I knew we were in an action movie, something I couldn't ignore, especially when I heard the captain shouting at you in his office as I dispatched the last of the doughnuts from the till, sitting behind my desk.
The only thing I feared about that security was knowing, as I looked at my gold watch, that I was just your partner, an old cop who was just counting down the days looking to retire.
That secondary character whom the plot had destined to die at the hands of the villain to give you an excuse to take revenge and become the action hero the script so desperately needed.

Sabía que estábamos en una película de acción, algo que no podía ignorar, sobre todo cuando oí al capitán gritarte en su oficina mientras despachaba el último de los donuts de la caja, sentado detrás de mi escritorio.
Lo único que temía de aquella seguridad era saber, mientras miraba mi reloj de oro, que yo no era más que tu compañero, un viejo policía que contaba los días para jubilarse.
Ese personaje secundario al que la trama había destinado a morir a manos del villano para darte una excusa para vengarte y convertirte en ese héroe de acción que el guión tanto necesitaba.
