Life is funny. It's still autumn, but we're nearing towards the end of it and although we still have a great variety of colors on trees and on the ground, I somehow feel the need for more colors in my life. This is something I usually experience towards the end of February, if we have an overcast, gloomy winter, which happens lately, but not in November. It's not necessarily a bad thing, I don't let it get to me, or get depressed, rather find a way to make my life colorful.

So today, to bring some colors in my and ultimately our life, I'm going to post some photos I took at that very colorful exhibition I posted about here, here and here. This was a very special exhibition of Edit Vári Váncza, one that puts your mind to work and kind of forces you to look for the details as well. I love these and I hope you love them too.

Lake Shore (2025)
At first glance, this painting seems a big, colorful mess, then you think of a colorful waterfall, or just a small place where water is falling like 50cm in a mountain creek, but there's more there.

It's a very funny one and I'll let you discover the hidden beauty of it. Let's see if you can find it.

Horizon - Earth (2025)
Rocks - Earth (2025)
There were these two paintings, apparently similar in style and color, but still different.

Cave Wall - Earth (2025)
Cavity - Earth (2025)
While I was looking at these two paintings, was thinking of how many ways there are to paint the same scene or landscape. Here the artist chose to focus on colors and as you could see, all her paintings are colorful, more than usual I'd say, compared to what we are used to. It's her way to see the world and I love it.

Every time I visit this gallery, I take a bunch of photos of the space as I love it. It's a very unconventional room, if you can call it room.

Rose Hips - (2024)
And this is where the fun begins. Those who have read my previous post and reading this one now know the major keyword here is colorful. If you look back, you can notice no matter what the theme of the painting is, it's really colorful.
This is a still life and look at how colorful it is. It's the first of this kind as although I've seen a lot of still life paintings, I've never seen one so colorful. Yes, it's different, unconventional, but I like it.

Autumn Fruits (2024)
This is a bit different from the previous one as the artist chose to make the background, or the surrounding colorful and make the fruits as real as possible. I love how the pear and the apply stand out.

Still Life with Squash (2024)
Another colorful, messy still life and I was thinking if you can call it abstract. Does this qualify for abstract? You tell me.

Flow - Water (2025)
What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you look at this painting? Notice something about the colors? Any van Gogh vibes? The colors definitely brings the Dutch painter in mind, but the special brushstrokes are missing. Let's see what else you can tell me about the painting 😀

Water Sound (2024)
Ever since I stepped in the gallery and laid eyes on the paintings, was thinking if I'd hang any on my wall. You have to admit, the style and the color choice is unique and definitely not the usual, so you need a bit of courage, but I definitely would. Maybe at first the surprise was a bit too much or overwhelming, but as I started posting about it, I had time to analyze them and see the deeper meaning and now I can say I love them. For me, a painting like this would be like a riddle. I would be staring at it, trying to figure out if there's more hidden meaning I can't see.
What about you? Would you like one of these paintings on your wall? Which one and why? This begs the question, why do you buy a painting and what kind of painting would you hang on your wall? One that would make you feel good or one that people visiting you would appreciate or envy? There are a lot of questions here 😆
