Every year my grandfather makes the decision to renew his carnations in the garden, apparently it is one of the few flowers that survive the extreme temperatures, both heat and cold and never disappoint as every year they give us their beautiful flowers of different colors. They are the cheapest to get and there is a wide variety of colors and designs to choose from, so if you want a colorful and cheerful garden, carnations are an excellent choice.

Again Buhito and I grabbed our camera phone and went out to capture the beauty of this small, but decorative flower. It amazes us that such a small plant can have so many buds to the point that the flower completely covers the green of its leaves. My grandfather planted some carnations in a pot where I used to have a sunflower and later a white chrysanthemum, which I already shared, but both died, apparently that pot does not like the flowers I put in it.

What I like about this flower is its symmetry when it has two colors, some have a circle of another color in the center that covers most of the petal, others are of similar characteristics, but the circle is smaller and leaves a traced edge of a lighter or darker color that makes it look equally beautiful, nature never ceases to amaze.

Here we can see Buhito wanting to show off next to the flower, notice how this little flower seems to be painted in a delicate way, as if nature was playing on purpose with the colors and drawings, they look like small brushstrokes thrown at random, but as nature is wise, even with closed eyes it could create a perfect work of art.

This one is my favorite because here we can better visualize what I'm talking about, I love that central circle of a darker color and the white border. When the plant starts to put out several buds, it is very beautiful to see because you can easily spot that combination of light and dark colors, that is what makes it stand out even more among the other carnations. This design is like Buhito, a border of one color and the center of another, making it stand out with three different colors, but in perfect harmony.

These last ones that I will show are the carnations that my grandfather recently planted, they are located in a sector of the garden where there used to be a pink Chinese Rose that unfortunately was burned by the strong winter and its powerful frosts, fortunately I could capture several photos of its flowers last year and share them with you before my grandfather decided to remove his plant. Today that place is occupied by carnations.

This flower blooms several times a year, so, if you have carnations I can assure you that you will have flowers for a large part of the year and not just one, but several. Despite being a small plant, it is powerful in terms of garden decoration and the color of these carnations is in perfect harmony with the color of Buhito, both are light colors and therefore fit very well in the photographs. I hope this flower continues to delight us for several years and so Buhito can go to visit them as many times as he wants!
