Walk with me yeah His name is Jonah i hope i got that right. I saw the video and I was mind blown like this kid makes stuff that I've never dreamt of. I guess that's what prodigy means lol. But yeah one of his pieces stood out to me. It was a sweater, a blue sweater and on the sides it had this cable pattern on it.
I actually used to think those patterns were specific to knitting only so when I saw them I was like yeah it's a knitting thing so there was no point in researching since I'm a crocheter. But then I saw it on this boys lage and I was like wait that's a crochet prodigy yeah. Which means he does crochet. Which also means this stitch is crocheted.
Honestly I was so happy because I always thought of how unique the stitch is and how pretty it'll look if I put it on any of my pieces. I dunno if you get ot bit like that joy I had at that point knew no bounds. But I got caught up with work and honestly it slipped away and u forgot I had someone to do a research on.
And boom I saw a video on Instagram yesterday or two days ago. A fiber artist made a video like “y'all I just learnt to make cables in crochet, prepare tp be sick of me” and it clicked. Like hey I was supposed to learn that. Good thing I had time on my hands I hurriedly went to grab my crochet supplies and got to work.
Deep down I was scared that it'll be so hard and I won't be able to make it come out the way it should. Yesh I ran to YouTube. Searched for a tutorial video and I got to work. When I finished the first line I was still praying. Like please let this one come out neat.
I made a few more rows and I saw the tiny cables coming out and I was like “awwwwwn my tiny babies” trust me the thoughts that go on in my head when I'm crocheting are very funny especially when I succeed.
When I started getting a hang of the stitches I was like how about a little Monochrome from the queen of Monochrome so I added black yarn to it. Lol. The number of black and white things I've made needs to be studied. To me I just love it. It's either I make just black or black and white or black and some odd colors and I have a fair skin so I don't have to worry about my weird choice of colors.
Now I just have to figure out how to test out what I've learnt.
Things I used to make this piece:
5.0mm hook
2 40g yarns [white and black]
Scissors
