Things I consider essential

in The MINIMALIST16 days ago

As someone who doesn't like too much luggage, because I can't find myself carrying heavy things up and down, especially at the park or airport. Paying extra and haggling over the price with them can be exhausting at times.

So as a minimalist, I usually like my things organized and well arranged no matter where I'm traveling. But before I dive into the topic proper, before I travel, depending on where my destination is, which is the main factor that I do consider before packing my bags.

What is the main reason I am going to this place? Is it for work, vacation, to help a sick relative, or to find a job? After considering this factor and determining my primary motive.

I set out for the bag that contains everything that I will be needing because I can't afford to carry two bags with the struggle and weight. After that is sorted out, the first thing I will put inside the bag is my underwear. I remember going on a journey to another state that would take up to a month. I was in such a hurry as the preparation for that travel was urgent.

I forgot to pack my undies, toothbrush, and some other essential things. So since that incident, it has become the first thing I do. Next is my toothbrush, followed by my toiletries, which consist of my roll-on, body spray, body mist, cream, face cleanser, and some other important things too.

Next, the next thing is to put in my clothes: skirts with matching tops, trousers, gowns, towels, sponge, sweaters. I can predict the weather there, nightwear. I do take a wrapper because I usually catch cold easily, and I don't know if there will be a duvet where I'm heading. After the clothes, I put in my shoes: heels, slippers, and canvas. Then in goes my handbag, not more than two.I put my Bible, laptop, power bank, and my writing materials.

If what I went for is work, I will have more corporate clothes and a few outfits for outings. But if it's for vacation, then no corporate attire at all except for church, casual clothes, shorts, and if it's for visiting a sick relative, a face mask is needed because hospitals have a strange smell before anything else.

These are my essentials. I have all of these, so if anything I brought along finishes, I can use the empty container to look for it.

Those people that carry everything in their house when traveling, I keep wondering where they get their strength. I'm very lazy😅.

My suitcase is arranged in a very simple manner. Sometimes, I wish it's possible to travel with a bag... just my phone and changers😅

Whenever I do that , my mum will ask me are you a lady at all

Much load is truly work.
It's good to keep it simple and essentials - minded to avoid stories that touch.

Yes oo

Thank you

Ah wow, arriving someplace without undies must've been quite a surprise! :D probably became a fun story to tell friends, though, so all's well that ends well. Smart to learn your lesson, though. :)

I learnt it very well, I have to buy another one there

It's not always easy to decide on what to carry when traveling but with a minimalist perspective it gets easier and we know we have to take only the things that matter. Great choices there!

Yes

Traveling light is always the best. Carrying too much luggage can be stressful and tiring, especially when moving around a lot. I don’t like packing things I won’t use, so I only take the items I really need for the journey. It makes traveling easier, and more comfortable,

Honestly, excess luggage is not for me
