I had a few irons in the fire while the NFL playoff games were happening on Saturday and Sunday. I was bouncing back and forth between manning the grill outside and sitting on the couch watching the game and checking my fantasy scores.
You might recall from my previous posts that my regular fantasy season was anything but spectacular this past year. In fact, I think I ended up at the very bottom of our league when all was said and done.
I was lamenting that fact to my brother in law when he suggested I join his post season league that he was starting up. The site he used is one called The Second Season, and the premise is actually quite simple.
You pick one player from each team that is in the playoffs. You can only pick two QBs, three WRs, three RBs, 2 TEs, a kicker, and a defense. Then you just sit back and wait to see if those players you picked score any points in the post season.
It's actually a lot less stress than our traditional league where you had to make adjustments to your roster and pick your players every week.
When one of the teams gets eliminated, you lose that player. As I said last week, I might have screwed the pooch in that respect with my team and @mrsbozz's team. I think I should have picked those lower scoring positions from teams that I had a feeling would get eliminated.

Believe it or not, with only three games left in the season, @mrsbozz and I find ourselves sitting at the top of the rankings in this fantasy league. This is unfamiliar territory for both her and I. We aren't used to doing this well. Sadly, I have a feeling it isn't going to last. I feel like this is going to be one of those cases where we rush to the lead and then in the last part of the post season we start to fall behind. Kind of like a marathon runner that gives a little too much too soon.

As you can see from my initial lineup, I am left with Josh Allen, Travis Kelce, Saquon Barkley, and Terry McLaurin. Those actually aren't bad positions to be left with. The only thing I need to hope for at this point is high scoring games.

Meanwhile, @mrsbozz is left with many of the same players. She has Barkley, Daniels, Cook, and Kelce. The good news is neither of us got left with a defense or a kicker, but it is going to be interesting to see how explosive those players are this coming weekend.
Fingers crossed it all ends up well for us. I don't think there are any prizes in this league besides bragging rights, but it would be nice to finally get a win after such a horrible season!
