RE: A Look at PeakD's New "Store" Feature — A User's Out-Of-Box Experience

in GEMS3 months ago

Thanks for the in-depth review and for sticking with all the early-days experience!

For now, there is no automated tracking of quantities sold and how much you have in stock. There is just a way for you to manually mark your item as out of stock.

About the products being posts on your blog, you can choose how you want to do this. One way is to instead make them as comments under some post, and another way is to post them in some community (or even make your own community) without them being in your main blog. Do these options sound like they would work for someone who wants to post a lot of products?

I'm just happy that you have created this particular feature and look forward to seeing it develop over time. Hopefully more people will become part of the process, and the fact that rewards are not currently paid in HBD will not have a negative impact.

As for your suggestion, the option I like best — for someone who has a lot of different products — would be to create your own Community as an adjunct to your sales efforts, and to simply launch each individual product to that community as a post.

I think a post with a long string of comments to represent the products would be cumbersome after a while, and resulting excessive scrolling.

I expect this will ultimately not be an issue for most people who likely will have 8-12 items to sell. But in a situation like mine where you have several hundred items there has to be a solution other than just creating a long string of posts to your blog.

Thanks, again, for taking the time!
