The results from the written Joint Admission Matriculation Board examination is really alarming. There’s a lot of complaints here and there from those who wrote the examination and especially the parents of those candidates.
Based on statistics, it is said that one million and nine hundred thousand people sat for the examination and just four hundred and forty people passed the examination.
They are not even up to fifty percent. So, what’s happening? Is the examination that difficult or the candidates didn’t prepare well or what’s happening? Now, some people mentioned that they want to fill a JAMB complaint form to see if their results can be reviewed.
What do I feel about this?
Maybe there is a glitch. I’m saying that because I saw a thread on X about a lady who wrote this examination last year and had a score of 351/400 but now, 151/400. Also, the fact that just twenty five percent of the candidates were able to cross the fifty percent line is alarming.
I feel that’s not normal to an extent. At least, forty percent of the candidates should have crossed the half mark.
Secondly, phones feel like the major problem. My immediate brother also wrote this examination and he scored 176/400. I know his problem. He presses his phone every now and then which hinders him from reading. And many times when we think he’s reading, he’s busy playing games.
Lastly, inadequate preparation is what messed them up. I feel some of them think it’s just going to be a very easy examination but when they get there, they will realize that it’s no baby’s work.
These are the three things I feel that might have caused high rate of failure in JAMB 2025 examination. What are your thoughts about the examination results that were released?
