A servant of God needs to know his or her destined future. As a Christian must be knowledgeable about the future. And that’s why when you read the Bible, you’ll know that it doesn’t speak the gospel alone. The Bible also speaks prophesy. Reading the Bible is prophesy on its own as well.
In the book of John 14:29, the Bible says; And now, I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come pass, ye might believe
It is said that prophetic announcements are made by the Lord so that we may believe when it is fulfilled. This means that we Christians are aware of what will happen in future even before they happen.
Let’s take the days of Noah as an example. God told Noah about the flood which will happen but as a true Christian, he believed in the Lord and began to build an ark. For some who didn’t believe, they were seriously injured or even killed by the flood.
For those who were able to make it, they eventually believed what the Lord told Noah.
So, as Christians, we have been given the liberty to know what’s likely to happen in future.
Also, all the things happening today were once said in the Bible for those who read their Bibles well.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 says; For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
Whether we like it or not, we have to know that we are going to die. That is also part of the future. We have to know these things. We don’t need to know alone but we have to believe in it also.
If we have been given the opportunity to know the future, we should make good use of it and make hay while the sun shines.
