RE: Who's Who?

In 10 or 20 years, Ecuador will be more like the US or Europe in those regards. Like they're now. I never bought anything online here, except for books - bookstores are hard to come by, and there's an online shop that ships it to you from wherever. They even have some in German, which is much easier for me than English or Spanish.

Besides that, I'm pessimistic. I'm not seeing much development towards a better future right now. Maybe AI can help with that, but I doubt it. That book shop platform will probably vanish, too.

Some countries, or should I say some continents still have a huge step to make forward, to get, where other countries are right now, as you say. This means legislation has to be adapted as well, not just technology.

Oh, books. I'm waiting for my book from Amazon, it's been more than a month now 😩. They said arriving yesterday, now I see a sorry message and offering refund if I want, but I want the book. Unfortunately digital versions have been dominating for years, but when it comes to studying I am not willing to make compromises, I want my printed copy and this is a trading book.

Anyway, the road for Ecuador to get where we are now is going to be interesting.

Didn't amazon start out as an online store for physical books? Quite ironic that they don't know how to do that anymore...

And yes, Ecuador is going to be a very interesting development. Always having back-up plans, just in case...

They did and yet here we are. I think I've never been so eager to get a book and it's been more than a month now. I'm going to be very angry if they don't deliver it.

By the way, where are you from originally as it's not Ecuador it seems.

Originally from northern Germany. Came here 13 years ago :-)

That explains it but must be a reason you're still there 😉

Many reasons! First one was that I fell in love with a woman and got a job offer here. Then I just started building a life here, and when things fell apart with my ex-wife, I decided to keep on living that life. Working out pretty great until now :-)

I'm really glad and thanks for sharing it with me 😊

Always a pleasure! It's been quite the journey, and I'm always happy to talk about it :-D
