Genus Gymnopilus | 04 02 2025 | North Acèh Regency, Acèh, Indonesia |
From my observations, I suspect this is a fungus from the genus Gymnopilus. Usually, fungi from this genus are often found growing on rotting wood, especially in damp environments like this. Its bright yellow color makes it easy to spot, but I still checked some of its other distinctive features to be sure.
I spent quite a long time there, taking several photos before finally continuing my journey. It always feels good to find something unique while exploring, especially when you can immortalize it in the form of a photo. This small yellow mushroom is one of the interesting surprises at the beginning of the year.
