People hardly use AI tools like ChatGPT

in LeoFinance6 months ago

If I tell this, nobody is going to believe this. But a study says that people hardly use AI tools like ChatGPT on a regular basis. Most of the people say that they have used it once or twice but there is only a few who keeps using it consistently. This study was conducted by Reuters Institute and Oxford University. This was made with the help of a survey conducted with over 12000 people who live in different countries. It is true but we cannot believe that many people still don't know anything about AI and how it is going to change the world.

It is definitely true that the future is going to be AI and there will be a lot more adoption in the future but as of now the adoption is very limited and even though there are many AI tools available, maybe there is no need for them on a regular basis to use them. In many corporate companies using AI has been banned by them considering the fact that not all the information provided by the AI is reliable. There can be false information and people might end up making mistakes.

Companies might have their own AI

Many companies have started investing in bringing their own AI tool that can be used within the company. Those AI models are well trained to provide better results compared to the open AI. The other advantage is that the companies will have control over the data and they can control what to show and what to not show. It is best to have a own version of AI and train it within the company so that all the needs within the company can be handled by that AI.

In big MNC companies the internal operations and legal aspects itself can be a big question for the employees. Introducing an AI like this would be helpful not only for clarifying the doubts but it can be a customized one too. I don't know if having a own AI tool is one of the reasons why people don't use public AI tools like ChatGPT.

Early adoption is very less

Maybe there is too much of hype around AI and at least that has made people know about this technology and helped many companies advance. There is a lot more room for improvement. In the initial stages people wanted to test the capabilities of the AI tools but it was not very welcoming to use them on a day to day basis because there was no need for it. But gradually as the years pass by and if this technology also matures, there will be a huge demand for this in the future.

One of the biggest reasons for less adoption is that these AI tools have not yet convinced people that they are efficient and they are reliable. Many companies are banning the use of ChatGPT because the answers that it provides to the questions is not reliable and what if someone use ChatGPT for a critical job. Say for example if a doctor asks a question to ChatGPT and cuts the wrong part during a surgery thinking that ChatGPT would have provided the correct answer. We cannot rely too much on technologies like these blindly but they are essential part but hopefully the adoption might happen after it gets stabilized.

I use AI as a time saver to help me get work done faster. But I don't use it to search for facts as it can have false results.

However, I am certain what my opinions and thoughts are. AI helps me clarify and organize them. I try to use AI to reflect who I am rather than create a false image.

But as you state, I think people don't use it much. I think this is because they don't know how to get desired and trustworthy results.

There are lots of improvements happening and I'm sure there will soon be advanced and trustworthy results from the AI and they might become a part of our life.

It's true they really aren't that helpful or fast compared to alternatives.

I used to use ChatGPT more, but it consistently gives me incorrect information, but it does it with a confident tone so it makes the user think it's correct. I've asked it to tell me how to do certain things with coding and when it doesn't work, I find the answer on my own with some searching and then I have to go back and tell ChatGPT it was wrong.

Yeah ChatGPT is just a guidance. We shouldn't take it fully serious.

This weekend I wanted to create a ChatGPT account but I didn't have time

Lol do it. You need it.

I started using it! It's a fantastic tool for studying

One of the biggest reasons for less adoption is that these AI tools have not yet convinced people that they are efficient and they are reliable.

This is very true and like you said if it gets improved in the future then people can be trusting of its delivery. As much as I know that it is an inevitable big part of the future, I am kind of relieved in it's little delay and setback, leaving more options and choices to be made.

It is true that we are seeing many things getting worse because of this technology, children are not paying attention to their studies, they are doing everything through it, so I have also heard that many countries have done this. has been banned so that confidence does not disappear from within the children.

I wanted to do price comparison of electronics gadgets (India vs US). After spending considerable amount of time on different websites, swtiching between Indian and US versions of the site, I gave up.

And then I asked Meta AI via whatsapp (I got to know that whatsapp/meta has rolled out this feature selectively) and within 5 minutes I got price comparison in INR as well as USD of all the products I was searching for

Yeah the experience is great and the future will be very interesting.

i don't really know what to say at this point, ai is doing more harm than good, people don't really put time and effort in making research especially students, like university students, everyone relies on Ai and chat chat GPT for answers or help them do their research work, which is making them put less effort in their educational lives.

I can clearly say that I use it quite often in my day to day job, but it's also really beneficial as a software engineer. Especially for writing code for logical problem it's super helpful, as you can simply describe the issue with words and e.g. chatGPT is generating the source code for you. I also believe that this is the way to go to produce better software, but the engineer still need to check and validate the code of course and should not blindly trust the AI doing the right thing. :)

Yeah it is very helpful to get solutions for logic and some sample code. Just that we have to review it and be careful while using it.

In regards this, of course you should still always test it on your own, but you can also ask #chatGPT to even write tests for the code it produces. 😀

I’m also one of those who still feel that the AI is not capable enough and reliable too. Well, it will surely get better
At the same time, a lot of people will keep losing their jobs

Hi @rafzat, A month ago some of my friends showed me artificial intelligence with the ChatGPT application. I admit I was amazed
