I'm a tree enthusiast, and I observe trees and plants wherever I go. Recently, I noticed that due to urban development, they chop down a lot of trees everywhere. I'm not against development, but at the same time, I think it is important for the government to consider planting more trees wherever they remove them. In some places, they would have removed several trees, but they would not have planted them back.
Something that I admire from developed nations like Singapore is that they try to plant trees in buildings and protect the vegetation, but in India, many green environments are becoming grey because of urbanization and urban developments. Chopping down a huge tree and just growing a small plant in a pot is not going to help the environment in any way. This is the frustration I would like to share in this article.
Exclusive team for taking care of trees
Sometimes I used to think that so many things can be done to protect the trees and green cover. We all know how important it is to have enough oxygen to survive. We have already polluted the air we breathe. Climate change is also evident. Many places have reported heavy heat this summer. They also say that in the cold regions, there is an unusual melting of ice, which is making the survival of different species a big problem.
The ultimate solution could be to increase the green cover as much as possible. It is not that I'm writing this article because the weather is too hot right now, but observing this for several years, I'm just curious to see if some change happens and we move in the direction where we leave a good living place for future generations to come.
If the government plans it very well, they can even create a separate exclusive team that would take care of all the trees everywhere. They either maintain the trees by removing unwanted branches or they plant more trees wherever it is possible. This has been an idea for me for several years. I don't know who will get into the heads of the government officials and ministers to make them understand the importance of having enough green cover.
