No precious metal here :)
Being a geologist and economist, I can say metals are mostly fear mongering. I like people to own it, if they want mental support. However, almost always there is better investment alternatives out there.

I agree with that for the most part. Like I wrote above, I don't really see much long term gains from holding them, just keeping up with inflation. I'm more into precious metal as a collectable: old coins and the like, which I do enjoy a lot. That said, I know a lot of folks around here are very serious about it.
