All nature deserves to be appreciated in detail, seeing in it the goodness and its different beauties.
Every corner of the Botanical Garden La Concepcion of this city, deserves special attention because each sector shows us a wonder different from the others.
On this occasion I hiked along the paths of a sub garden called Garden of cacti and other succulents. The map indicated that it was sector 16.
As this garden is 29 hectares in size it is best to follow the directions on the map. At the entrance to the garden there is also a map to help you find your way around.
I must confess that I really like to go without it and explore, but if you want to get there quickly it is better to read it.
I love hiking and this place has so many trails that it is ideal, plus you need several days to be able to walk it completely if you want to appreciate each space.
According to the map I had to follow this path to get to the cactus garden and it is the same path that leads to the most important viewpoint.
On one side I could observe trees and diverse vegetation and on the other side I had panoramic views of both different parts of the nature of this garden and the city in the distance.
The first explanatory sign that I found refers to the palm trees of the place, mostly from Central American countries, of medicinal use, with beautiful flowers of different colors thanks to the interbreeding of species.
In summer this place is very humid, so the heat in certain areas feels strong, but in others where there is more vegetation it seems cooler.
At a given moment the trail forks and it is there where the two paths divide, one goes to the viewpoint and the other to the cactus area. I took the second one.
Arrived at this sector appear more and more paths to show all the variety of species, but first I had to climb one that was a slope and see the cactus still in the distance.
Even so, among the trees the place looked beautiful and I had not yet reached where I wanted to go.
A new path showed sun at the end and when I look in another direction I can see in the distance the path I left that led to the viewpoint.
The trails crisscrossed and often merged into each other, it was truly a maze.
I think this one will finally lead me to see the succulent species more closely and it did.
You can appreciate the great beauty in this view, a specially dedicated place. And looking at the other side I could see the path I left. In this sector it was easy to get lost because there were paths and counter paths.
I liked to see the shapes they have, in this case very fat cactus with many thorns. Surely no one wants to touch them, but I imagine that in flowering season they must be even more beautiful.
There were sectors separated by steps and thus divided into grids, so that each part contained different species and could be clearly seen.
The order and arrangement were exquisitely designed and pleasing to the eye.
It is amazing how this kind of plants can withstand drought and live like this in the dry land and among stones. It reminded me of when I lived in Argentina that because of the type of climate I had several of them and they have a reserve of water for the times when there is no water.
Here I could see many species, some tall, some short, thinner or chubbier, many sizes and shapes. Some seemed to have more thorns than others.
In contrast, looking back I could see the road far below and the pines with the green generated another totally different panorama.
Another path in front of me and always surrounded by this beautiful and exotic garden of succulents.
In the various paths I found many explanatory signs, both of the species, their location within the place, forms of adaptation and thorns.
Everywhere I looked I always discovered a different succulent, which I had never seen before and very beautiful, some rose above the ground and others more creeping.
In this case they looked like succulents, but in the form of shrubs. It is known as Euphobia with several subspecies. Some of them are toxic.
But when I saw them they did not look poisonous to me but rather harmless and leathery in texture.
On the way back from this path I came across a tree in the distance that seemed to be falling down, nature forms incredible landscapes.
I went around this path heading south and although the species seemed to be the same the views changed depending on the sunlight and the shadows it generated.
This particular succulent I really liked because of its shape and it was the first time I had ever seen it in my life.
In the middle of all of them there was a network of hoses and pipes that carry water for irrigation, but also because the terrain is sloping it prevents the area from filling up with water as it would affect the cacti a lot.

I found more paths and these led me to some succulents that I knew very well and that at some point I had in my garden, it brought back fond memories.
Amidst all the scenery there were also various trees and pines that adorned that very special garden.
This succulent is native to India and looks beautiful.
In another of the paths I could see the famous Aloes, which are of various species and colors. These were very familiar to me and have beautiful flowers.
The views of the sky had nothing to envy.
And the landscapes that could be seen from that height to another sector of the botanical garden were special and majestic.
Once I had toured all this sector, I started my way back thinking of another day to return for more trails and surprises in this paradisiacal place.
A different and impressive succulent garden that I really enjoyed visiting.
I send you all a big greeting and see you next time.
