Entry for the Reflection Hunters Contest Round 217 – Jump In

This photo was taken early in the morning by a quiet lake in Quebec, Canada. The sun had just started rising, and the water was completely still. I noticed how the reeds growing from the shallows were reflected so clearly that the sky and water became one.

The photo is not flipped or digitally manipulated. What you're seeing is a real reflection, created by light, timing, and nature. The sun broke through the trees just enough to cast a glowing beam into the water, turning a calm lake scene into something that felt more like a dream.

I shot this with my Nikon D40 and used black and white on the spot to bring out the light and contrast. It’s one of those moments where everything aligned without planning. Just presence and patience.
