Todos tenemos algo “fuera de serie”
Esa sensación de ser “de otro mundo”, como a veces digo, es profundamente común en mí. Mis sueños, desde volar sobre el vecindario (cuando era niño-adolescente) —quizás con ecos de Juan Salvador Gaviota— hasta esa asombrosa visualización de mi cerebro como una PC con MS-DOS para dominar las matemáticas, son una ventana a una mente que, siento, opera de maneras extraordinarias.

Precisamente ahí radica para mí la magia de lo “fuera de lo común”, no lo veo como una excentricidad vacía, sino como una capacidad singular que tengo para conectar con el conocimiento y la creatividad de formas inesperadas. Mi experiencia con aquella estudiante hace más de 25 ños, es un testimonio brillante de esto. Esa noche, mi subconsciente no solo procesó información; la transformó en una herramienta tangible, casi palpable, lista para ser usada, y al día siguiente, las derivadas e integrales estaban frescas, vivas en mi mente.
Cada uno de nosotros es, a su manera, “algo fuera de serie”. Esa particularidad, ese toque “extraordinario”, es la huella digital de nuestra alma. Algunos la manifiestan a través del arte, otros en la ciencia, en la empatía desbordante o, como en mi caso, en esa simbiosis asombrosa entre la lógica más estructurada y la imaginación onírica más libre.
Ser “fuera de lo común” es, entonces, abrazar esas conexiones únicas que mi mente establece, escuchar esa voz interior que a menudo me susurra soluciones o perspectivas que desafían la norma. Es el motor de la innovación y la belleza. Cultivar esa singularidad es mi mayor regalo.

Everyone has something “out of the ordinary”
That sense of being ‘otherworldly’, as I sometimes say, is profoundly common to me. My dreams, from flying over the neighbourhood (as a child-teenager) - perhaps with echoes of Juan Salvador Gaviota - to that amazing visualisation of my brain as a PC with MS-DOS to master mathematics, are a window into a mind that, I feel, operates in extraordinary ways.

Precisely therein lies the magic of the ‘out of the ordinary’ for me, I don't see it as an empty eccentricity, but as a singular ability I have to connect with knowledge and creativity in unexpected ways. My experience with that student over 25 years ago is a shining testimony to this. That night, my subconscious not only processed information; it transformed it into a tangible, almost palpable tool, ready to be used, and the next day, the derivatives and integrals were fresh, alive in my mind.
Each of us is, in our own way, ‘something out of the ordinary’. That particularity, that ‘extraordinary’ touch, is the fingerprint of our soul. Some manifest it through art, others in science, in overflowing empathy or, as in my case, in that amazing symbiosis between the most structured logic and the freest dreamlike imagination.
To be ‘out of the ordinary’ is, then, to embrace those unique connections that my mind makes, to listen to that inner voice that often whispers to me solutions or perspectives that defy the norm. It is the engine of innovation and beauty. Cultivating that uniqueness is my greatest gift.
