The 100-Day Project, Day 19 — A Bit of a "Collection" Post

in GEMS8 months ago

Welcome to Day 19 of the 100-Day Project!

Been a tad bit on the busy side again today — our son is still staying with us — and I always have lots of things to do on the weekend, anyway.

Stones I've painted during the first 18 days of the challenge!

I was looking around my workspace a little, and I realized that I am building a fair body of new work here, and that's definitely one for the "plus column" of this challenge.

Anyway, rather than share yet another rather monotonous "process" sequence, I decided to create a few collage/collective shots of work I've done since starting this challenge.

I have long had a fondness for these kinds of "composite" shots... after all, it was something similar that went viral back in 2015 and originally put what I was doing somewhat on the map. Part of that shot remains my header picture, here on Hive.

The colors will become more vibrant and brilliant after I apply a finish coat.

Day 19 Stone Painting:

Since we are still doing "the family thing," I decided to only paint a very modest stone today.

No "process" photos today — as mentioned above — just a single "proof of stone" shot, further down.

I can say that I am "getting back in the groove" with respect to feeling creative and getting some work done.

Today's rather modest stone doesn't look like much, compared to recent work... but it's a popular color set at shows.

Day 19 Summary and Social Media Bits:

One stone finished: It's a decent smaller stone, nothing very impressive and I did feel like I was rushing it a bit... even though it turned out fairly well. I'm postponing the plans to paint a large stone until after our son heads back to Seattle tomorrow night.

Daily Twitter/X post: Check. Continuing to add some content that has nothing to do with stone painting, yet is related, like meditation, Reiki, Chakra balancing and such.
Daily Facebook Page post: Fail. Didn't really have time for Facebook today.
Daily Instagram post: Check. For randomness' sake, I added a post of our cat for "Caturday!" Because why not....

Other Stuff: As usual, this Hive post; picked a very large "blank" stone to start meditating on and paint next week. Daily shoutout to @gillianpearce!

Day 19 completed; realizing that I am going to need to do some "finishing work" soon, but it is going to have to wait until the temperature in our garage goes above 50 degrees (10C) before I do anything, or the finish coat will cloud and form waves/undulations. It just doesn't go well in cold weather.

I appreciate you coming to visit and please do leave a comment if you feel so inclined!

Thank You!

I like the collection shots and the red stone you today. Good to hear you're "getting back in the groove". I'm not sure where I am. I feel all over the place. Busy day with family today though so that will be a nice break from all the other stuff going on in my life.

Wishing you another lovely fmaily day with your son.
