The 100-day Project, Day 15 - Back to Something Simpler

in GEMS9 months ago

Day 15: Today, I got pretty close to feeling like I just didn't have the time or energy to do my 100-day project stuff.

Today's Stone is a Crown Chakra Stone

Our middle son arrived from Seattle to spend a few days before he goes back to work, and we spent a lot of time listening to his stories from his recent trip to Costa Rica, and then we had dinner and were talking and watched a bit of TV and there was really nothing I felt less inclined to do than suddenly get creative in the middle of this.

But I made this deal with myself, so I decided to at least do something simple today.

Start with a simple star pattern in gold and purple

Day 15 Stone Painting:

Having chewed off more than I really should have for a couple of days now, today I decided to just go with something pretty basic that I didn't have to think too much about.

And so, I chose to paint a "Chakra Stone," in this case a Crown Chakra Stone which is predominantly done in shades of purple.

I normally stick to shades of purple with gold, and a few white accents.

The chakra stones are among the most popular things we do, particularly when we are at shows and fairs with a supernatural or metaphysical bent.

I'm not that fond of getting "gimmicky" with my work, but this particular angle does seem to work really well from a commercial standpoint. People go for art that does something...

These stones feel a little predictable to me, but people seem to like them.
there!

This one took about 50 minutes to complete, and actually served as a nice meditation to help me"come down" after a long day.

Day 15 Summary and Social Media Bits:

One stone painted: Nothing spectacular today, just happy to get something done!

Daily Twitter/X post: Fail. 2nd day in a row, but I think family has to come before twitter!
Daily Facebook Page post: Fail. Out of time.
Daily Instagram post: Fail. Out of time.

Other Stuff: As usual, this Hive post; otherwise nothing... too much other stuff going on today. Daily shoutout to @gillianpearce!

Day 15 completed; I have grown increasingly aware that I not only need to order paint soon, but we are also past due for a beach trip.

I appreciate you coming to visit and please do leave a comment if you feel so inclined!

Thank You!

I'm not sure I could have painted a stone after settling in with the family.`Glad to see you complete Day 15.
