Si me hubieras preguntado hace unos años cómo se toma una buena decisión, probablemente te habría dado una respuesta parecida a esta:

Y, sí, suena inteligente. Pero déjame contarte algo que aprendí a la mala: no siempre sabemos tanto como creemos.
Una vez me tocó tomar una decisión relevante sobre un proyecto del que, mi equipo y yo, estábamos ansioso por ser parte.
Era una oportunidad increíble, de esas que no aparecen todos los días. Todo en el papel se veía bien: números sólidos, una proyección de crecimiento increíble y la sensación de que si no lo hacía, me arrepentiría el resto de mi vida.
If you had asked me a few years ago how to make a good decision, I would have probably given you an answer something like this:
"Analyze the facts, measure the risks, rely on your experience, and act decisively."
And yes, that sounds smart. But let me tell you something I learned the hard way: we don't always know as much as we think we do.
I once had to make a significant decision about a project that my team and I were eager to be a part of.
It was an incredible opportunity, one that doesn't come along every day. Everything on paper looked good: solid numbers, an incredible growth projection, and the feeling that if I didn't do it, I would regret it for the rest of my life.

Entonces entendí algo clave: no siempre vemos la imagen completa.
Y aquí es donde entra un versículo que después entendí de una forma mucho más personal:
📖 “Fíate de Jehová de todo tu corazón, y no te apoyes en tu propia prudencia. Reconócelo en todos tus caminos, y él enderezará tus veredas.” (Proverbios 3:5-6)
Básicamente, Dios me estaba recordando: “¿Por qué intentas hacerlo solo cuando sabes que Yo puedo guiarte mejor?”
So I did what any professional would do: I trusted my instinct, my logic, my knowledge, my experience, and the advice of people who, in theory, knew about the subject.
But something inside me told me, “Something doesn’t add up.”
You know what I did? I ignored it.
And what happened? What had everything to be a success ended up being one of the worst decisions I’ve ever made.
I wasted money, time, and energy on something that seemed promising, but had hidden details that I didn’t see because my focus was limited to what my eyes could calculate.
Then I understood something key: we don’t always see the whole picture.
And this is where a verse comes in that I later understood in a much more personal way:
📖 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Basically, God was reminding me, “Why do you try to do it alone when you know I can guide you better?”

Ahora quiero explicarte por qué tomar decisiones desde el conocimiento de la Palabra no es solo un concepto religioso, sino una estrategia real para la vida y los negocios.
Cuando nos basamos únicamente en nuestra lógica, estamos limitados a lo que sabemos hoy. Pero el problema con eso es que:
🚩 No sabemos lo que viene en el futuro.
🚩 No podemos leer las intenciones reales de las personas.
🚩No siempre vemos las consecuencias ocultas de nuestras decisiones.
Por otro lado, Dios sí lo ve. Y cuando hacemos de Él nuestro socio en las decisiones, básicamente estamos accediendo a una perspectiva más grande, más clara y sin sesgos emocionales.
Ahora bien, la pregunta era ¿cómo aplicaba esto a mis decisiones?
Después de superar la frustración por no haber detectado estas red flags, decidí probar algo diferente.
La próxima vez que tuve que tomar una decisión importante, en lugar de actuar por impulso, hice tres cosas:
1️⃣ Oré pidiendo sabiduría. En serio, le dije a Dios: “Si esto es bueno para mí, dame paz y claridad. Si no lo es, muéstrame lo que no estoy viendo.” (Santiago 1:5)
2️⃣ Busqué principios en la Biblia. Me pregunté: “¿Este negocio, esta relación o esta oportunidad realmente están alineadas con valores de honestidad, integridad y propósito?”
3️⃣ Esperé y observé las señales. No me apresuré. Y en ese tiempo de espera, comenzaron a salir a la luz detalles que no había notado antes. Cosas que, si hubiera actuado impulsivamente, me habrían costado caro.

When we rely solely on our logic, we are limited to what we know today. But the problem with that is that:
🚩 We don't know what's coming in the future.
🚩 We can't read people's real intentions.
🚩We don't always see the hidden consequences of our decisions.
On the other hand, God does. And when we make Him our partner in decisions, we are basically accessing a bigger, clearer perspective without emotional bias.
Now, the question was, how did this apply to my decisions?
After getting over the frustration of not having detected these red flags, I decided to try something different.
The next time I had to make an important decision, instead of acting on impulse, I did three things:
1️⃣ I prayed for wisdom. Seriously, I said to God, “If this is good for me, give me peace and clarity. If it’s not, show me what I’m not seeing.” (James 1:5)
2️⃣ I looked for principles in the Bible. I asked myself, “Is this business, this relationship, or this opportunity really aligned with values of honesty, integrity, and purpose?”
3️⃣ I waited and watched for the signs. I didn’t rush. And in that time of waiting, details began to come to light that I hadn’t noticed before. Things that, had I acted impulsively, would have cost me dearly.

Mira, no importa si eres creyente o no. La verdad es que confiar en Dios como tu socio no es un concepto místico o fantasioso.
Es simplemente una estrategia inteligente.
Porque cuando aprendes a tomar decisiones basadas en principios sólidos, con una perspectiva más amplia que la tuya, y con la guía de alguien que ve más allá de lo inmediato, terminas tomando mejores decisiones, reduciendo errores y viviendo con más claridad.
Así que la próxima vez que tengas que tomar una gran decisión, hazte un favor: no vayas solo. Involucra a Dios en el proceso, y te sorprenderás de lo diferente que pueden salir las cosas.

So the next time you have to make a big decision, do yourself a favor: don't go it alone. Involve God in the process, and you'll be surprised at how differently things can turn out.
