My uncle, my mother's oldest brother, was a projectionist in the early days, the days of silent movies. I don't know how far back his career went, but I remember he made a home movie all the way back in the 30s. People today think it's all ancient history, but I almost feel I can touch it. Doesn't feel so long ago to me.
