Happy Lord's Day everyone and trust we had a great day
Passing on faith is like passing a knowledge of the work you so much know about to someone of less or no knowledge about it. Such person is seen as a guide to having a broader understanding about the work just like carpentry, mechanical engineers, artists and other jobs. How do you now get to pass this knowledge if we are not deeply rooted in that knowledge? Are we expected to pass knowledge or continue with the chain of ignorance and empty knowledge
This is the same as the spirituality of man. We can't pass on our faith to our family or children precisely when our jar of God's words and knowledge is empty. Our faith is not burning for God, so we can't expect a hot food from cold pot unless the food was cooked from another pot. That is, those children get the original faith passed on to them from an outsider and not their so-called parent.
Parents are the first mentor and teachers that their children looks up to, either for good or bad. Parents are like a tree while children are the fruits that beget from the tree.
If we are willing to pass faith unto our children, then God's words must be our friend and deeply rooted in us so we don't pass on decayed faith to our offspring.
So many parents in the Bible mentored their children well and passed on Faith to them which we take as reference till date. Part of them are Abraham and Sarah, Joseph & Mary, they ensured that the destinies of their children are not reshaped due to their inability to guide and protect them.
They made their children know God which made their journey smooth and relevant before God for a perfect accomplishment of their divine missions, of which some children couldn't get such nowadays so they end up even questioning if there is really a God somewhere or it's just the scientific confirmation of how the world exist which shouldn't be so.
Let's teach our children in the way of the Lord so that they don't get to depart from it when they grow or no longer with us 24/7.
