El martes en la mañana fue un momento lleno de tensión. Nos tocó ir a consulta con mi papá por un problema de salud que tiene. Es la primera consulta después de un evento muy crítico así que tanto mi hermana como yo, íbamos un poco tensas. En estas ocasiones siempre es normal que nos asalten malos pensamientos pero es importante saber controlarlos. De todas maneras en otra ocasión les hablaré con más detalle sobre la salud de mi papá.

Después que salimos de consulta, comenzamos a recorrer cada farmacia con el propósito de buscar la economía porque le mandaron cuatro medicamentos a mi papá pero también estábamos buscando los medicamentos que mi mamá toma a diario para su tensión y arritmia. En fin, estábamos cansados porque el calor era muy fuerte y además los precios súper costosos, sin embargo, después de encontrar y comprar los medicamentos de mamá sentimos un gran alivio, aunque faltaban los de mi papá, decidimos hacer una pausa y vaya que nos devolvió mucha energía.

Tuesday morning was a stressful time. We had to go to my dad's appointment for a health problem. It was the first appointment after a very critical event, so both my sister and I were a little tense. Bad thoughts are normal on these occasions, but it's important to know how to control them. I'll tell you more about my dad's health another time.

After we left the appointment, we started visiting each pharmacy, looking for savings because they prescribed four medications for my dad, but we were also looking for the medications my mom takes daily for her blood pressure and arrhythmia. Anyway, we were tired because the heat was so intense and the prices were super expensive. However, after finding and buying Mom's medications, we felt a great relief. Even though my dad's were missing, we decided to take a break, and it really gave us a lot of energy.

Nos detuvimos en una tienda de batidos y mi hermano nos compró un batido de fresa 😋😋 a mi papá le compró un batido verde, también muy refrescante pero a mí hermana y a mí nos vino muy bien este sabor y sobre todo la temperatura. Estaba muy frío, le faltaba muy poco para ser granizado y el sabor era exquisito.

Amigos, después que me tomé este batido de fresa sentí que me renové. Ya llevábamos como más de cuatro horas desde que habíamos salido de casa más los nervios de la consulta y la búsqueda exhaustiva de los medicamentos, era como mucha carga en un día tan caluroso así que esto era justo lo que necesitaba.

We stopped at a smoothie shop and my brother bought us a strawberry smoothie 😋😋 My dad bought a green smoothie, also very refreshing, but my sister and I really enjoyed this flavor and especially the temperature. It was very cold, almost slushy, and the taste was exquisite.

Friends, after I drank this strawberry smoothie, I felt refreshed. We had already been home for over four hours, plus the nerves of the appointment and the exhaustive search for my medications. It was like a lot of stress on such a hot day, so this was just what I needed.

Y pensar que casi no nos damos el gusto de refrescarnos por el factor tiempo. Yo tenía que llegar a trabajar, faltaba poco para que comenzará mi jornada laboral en la tarde y además aún nos faltaba comprar los medicamentos de mi papá, sin embargo, fue una buena opción hacerle caso a mi hermano. Parar para recuperar fuerzas y continuar en la faena del día. Fue útil y estrictamente necesario.

En ocasiones el modo alerta y la aceleración que llevamos en la vida impiden que veamos la necesidad de parar al menos quince minutos cuando es fundamental que lo hagamos. Yo me senté a tomarme mi batido y lo disfruté porque me lo tomé poco a poco para disfrutarlo mientras me decía en mi mente que no pensará en todo lo que faltaba por hacer sino que disfrutará el momento y así fue.

And to think that we hardly ever get the pleasure of refreshing ourselves due to the time factor. I had to get to work, my afternoon shift was about to start, and we still had to buy my dad's medication. However, it was a good idea to listen to my brother's advice. We stopped to regain our strength and continue with the day's work. It was useful and absolutely necessary.

Sometimes the alert mode and the rush we experience in life make it hard for us to see the need to stop for at least fifteen minutes when it's essential. I sat down to drink my smoothie and enjoyed it because I drank it slowly, just to enjoy it, while telling myself in my head not to think about everything I still had to do, but to enjoy the moment, and that's exactly what I did.

La vida de vez en cuando se pone cuesta arriba pero si subimos esas cuestas poco a poco podremos disfrutar del proceso. No escatimen a la hora de hacer una pausa ya que está es la que les dará las fuerzas necesarias para continuar durante ese día. Eso fue lo que ocurrió con nosotros, pudimos terminar todo a tiempo, compramos los medicamentos de mi papá y pude llegar a tiempo a trabajar con una actitud fresca y positiva.

Life gets tough from time to time, but if we climb those hills little by little, we can enjoy the process. Don't be shy when it comes to taking a break, as this is what will give you the strength you need to continue throughout the day. That's what happened with us. We were able to finish everything on time, buy my dad's medications, and I was able to get to work on time with a fresh and positive attitude.
