Hello everyone, so today I’m here to send you all on another crochet journey. I’m still on my project to use all my yarn leftovers just so I don’t have to throw anything away. Yes, zero waste. I actually wanted to do something cool for tech people and those who love gadgets. After I finished I realized oh it’s actually for music lovers as well.
It’s a bit technical in the beginning but don’t worry, I’ll send you through step by step. I used about 3 hours to make both covers and I am so in love. Henceforth, we’re going to listen to music in style!
The materials I used were:
• 50g leftover yarn
• 1.60mm crochet hook
• needle
• a pair of scissors
I started by making a foundation half double crochet of 12. (Extra explanation-This isn’t the normal way where you chain 12 and make half double crochets. This time, you chain two and make a half double crochet in the first chain. And then you’ll see a v shape so that’s where you’ll keep making your half double crochet, till you reach the 12th half double crochet)
I now made 9 more rows of half double crochets, so it became 10 in all.
I used the size of the ear cups as my reference while crocheting the covers.
I now started crocheting from where the slider was and half double crocheted all around what I had already made. (It’s a cover so make sure it’s a little smaller in size so it can cover the ear cup well)
When I was reaching where I started, I turned my work, chained two and continued half double crocheting.
I half double crocheted around for three rows and was done with the cover. I now attached yarns at where the slider was so I would use them to tie the cover at that part.
This is all you need to do to make headphone cover.
I wanted a floral design so I started crocheting the flowers. Very simple and easy. I made a chain and half double crocheted 10 times into that chain. I now put my hook in the other end to slip stitch but before slip stitching, I changed the yarn to peach colour.(you can use any color of your choice)
I then made three chains and triple crocheted four times into the first stitch. (Triple crocheting is just like double crocheting but this time you’ll yarn two times around the crochet hook, just like I’ve shown in the picture)
I now slip stitched into the next stitch and repeated the triple crochets till I made five petals and I was done with the flowers.
I then attached the flowers to the cover using needle and yarn(the ideal thing to use is thread but I didn’t have that so I improvised)
I then finished my headphone cover.
The result
I really enjoyed making this and I hope you like it.
