The wild nature of Cappadocia

in #travelyesterday

Cappadocia is the wild region of Turkey, one of the most unique place I have visited. Here you can see some of the ancient cave houses and it's majorly famous for that only and their hot-air balloon ride. This place tells us stories about our ancestors how they lived and survived in extreme conditions. We hear stories about the people of olden days living underground and this place shows us exactly how they lived underground for months together. This regions geology has formed over millions of years with erosion and now what we get to see are the surreal landscapes formed with these erosions, giving us some unique sightings of the fairy chimneys, the tower rock formations and the honeycombed hills. A couple of days back I shared our cave hotel stay experience, which was also very unique in it's own way.

In our itinerary it was mentioned that on one of the days we would be doing a 4 kms hike passing through the rugged landscapes. I was super excited about it, because most of the time we were travelling by car and I wanted to walk on one of these days. We started out walk very enthusiastically, but we had barely walked a km and our guide informed us that we will be again getting back in the car. I was very disappointed as I was enjoying my walk, but the tour guide told me that the others were getting uncomfortable walking in the sun, so the hike had to be cut short and we had to continue our journey back in the car. I was wondering how do people come with such mindsets in this kind of place where all you have to do is explore and doing it on foot is the best way.

There are disadvantages when you go in a group, because then you have to look at everyone's needs. And in this case clearly the guide did not want to take any risk, because if anything would happen to anyone health wise then it would become an issue for him.

I clicked some pictures during this short hike and then some while we were passing in the car. There are specific names to these places, they are all in the passing.

I think hiking in the early morning could have been a better time before the heat from the sun start becoming intense. Beautiful contrast between the sparse vegetation and raw aspect of the trees and surrounding areas without any greenery. Love the overhead views of the mountains :)
