It's a little late, but as I write this at 06.10am on Boxing Day in Thailand, its still Christmas day in the UK and everywhere West of there!
It started like Christmas day back home, we had a few presents to open that we'd lugged back from the UK. Very nice, except for a box of After Eights I'd been given which had melted, of course, but when stuck in the fridge for an hour became a very pretty brick of mottled dark chocolate and mint fondant. I'll slice it up for tea!
Then it was back to the cleaning and getting ready to welcome our first case of the day.
I still find it very odd here in Thailand, how there are so many Christmas decorations and trees in every public area such as shops and malls but yet the day itself simply passes by normally as any other day would. We had a quiet day workwise, but I spent half the afternoon in a bank renewing my personal accident insurance. It was the usual case for Thailand. Take a simple 10-minute process and then complicate it, screw it up and make it last for an hour. I should have expected no less from the government's own savings bank!
I did, however, get two free calendars with pictures of the King and Queen. No comment.
Afterwards, we went to our favourite little restaurant by the beach to eat only to find it closed. Not because its Christmas, but because many businesses in the provinces still have all, or half day closing on a Wednesday. Back home to the mother-in-law's for tea it is then. Rice again!
This time last year, I was in Scarborough! Cue, excuse to sneak in a couple of Christmas pics from Scarborough I didn't post last Christmas!

And that was it really, except the wife dressed up the cat so he bit her. Thats his Dreamies being rationed for a week!

I just want to wish everyone around the world a most peaceful and healthy...
