Should Splinterlands License Its Lore (For Animation) and Art (For Merchandise) At Low Prices?

in #splinterlands2 days ago

I personally think it would be fine to give license to any large company to put merchandise on shelves or even make an animated series that is lore accurate. If the potential audience is large enough, license could be given for free + tiny percentage of revenue. Going mainstream is the most important task at hand. It is becoming increasingly difficult to reach the mainstream without spending massive amount for marketing. Having 7+ years of Lore and Art is one of the special superpowers we have.

We continue to see beautiful artwork updates to the game. We can license these to other companies to create whatever the merchandise they can sell and promote. There are many designs we encounter in Splinterlands gameplay that could make excellent children's toys. We could add some limitations such as only allowing licenses for 5 years. We can last longer than 5 years and once Splinterlands brand is more popular after 5 years, we could work on a contract that will bring us more revenue.
