Cover of the July 1988 issue of Amiga Computing
Amiga Computing is a magazine dedicated to the Commodore Amiga that was published in the U.K. The U.K. had a number of Amiga dedicated magazines but here in the U.S. we had fewer choices. The Amiga was reasonably popular for a while but the PC was really already starting to take over by that time. The July 1988 issue of Amiga Computing includes:
- Amiga Scene - The latest Amiga related news: Amiga cuts price of Amiga 500 to match Atari STFM, new Amiga virus identified, Amiga discounts for school, Casino Roulette from CDS released, new Flicker Fixer Board from Microway, Better Dead than Alien game released, Domark releases Empire Strikes Back, and much more.
- Adventures - A look at adventure games including a mention of Infocom games and a detailed review of Ultima III.
- DTP - A review of Pagesetter, a desktop publishing package from Gold Disk.
- Graphics - A review of Photon Pain from MicroIllusions/Activision an art package that was meant to compete with DeluxePaint.
- Printers - Reviews and a comparison of the Star LC-10 printer from Star Micronics and the Okimate 20.
- House Call - An interview with Mark Lewis, head of Electronic Arts, UK.
Table of Contents from the July 1988 issue of Amiga Computing (continued) - Hints - A player's guide for Bubble Bobble plust hints for StarGlider and Goldrunner as well as a map for Firepower.
- Symposium - Coverage of the 1988 USA Amiga developers' conference that took place in Washington D.C. from April 29th through May 1st, 1988.
- Language - Reivew of the TrueBASIC programming language package from Precision.
- Advice - Questions answered about using older games on systems with expanded memory, buying bargain Amiga 1000s, dragging multiple icons, and using full screen windows.
