in #music9 months ago

Introduction

We like to do currated playlists and also we are featured in hundreds of playlists on Spotify and wanted to higlight a few. We are always looking for suggestions for our playlist, so if you have a good idea then post a link to spotify in the comments we definitely need some new ones!!

This weeks playlist is all about the 80's which has so many classic songs. We only just started this playlist so if you have a good suggestion then let us know in the comments! Now it is not easy deciding on classic 80's, there is a lot of cheese in there and some definite terrible recordings and mixes!

Song picks

How can you not have Prince on an 80's playlist. I mean he is timeless and was a cut above most other things out there at the time. In our humble opinion he was a genius!

Sort:

I'd add:

‘A Little Respect’ by Erasure
‘Fast Car’ by Tracy Chapman
‘Bette Davis Eyes’ by Kim Carnes
‘Relax’ by Frankie Goes to Hollywood
‘Electric Avenue’ by Eddy Grant
‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’ by Whitney Houston
‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ by Joy Division
‘What Have I Done to Deserve This?’ by Pet Shop Boys and Dusty Springfield
‘Africa’ by Toto
‘Under Pressure’ by Queen & David Bowie
‘Jump’ by Van Halen
‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ by Cher
‘More Than This’ by Roxy Music
‘It’s Raining Men’ by The Weather Girls
‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ by Bonnie Tyler
‘Don’t You Want Me’ by The Human League
‘Hungry Like the Wolf’ by Duran Duran

Oops. Might have gotten a bit carried away. I could have gone on. 😂

Forgot how good Electric avenue is!

Yeah. Some of those are just cheesy classics that bring back happy memories. Some are just good. And some are both.

Electic Avenue, Toto and Bonnie Tyler instantly export me back to South Africa where I was living at the time.

Happy memoires for sure with some of those songs!

lol some classics in there! Gonna go and add a few.

I would add

or never gonna give you up
