Movies can be entertainment + learning

in #movies8 days ago

I am a big fan of movies and like to watch it mostly on the big screens. But these days OTT has made it convenient to watch from home and also the variety of movies one can watch. I always like to see movies based on real life stories, because these are the movies that can give us some kind of learnings. There is so much in history that we do not know that has happened in different parts of the world, when movies are based on these real life stories they bring not only the story to the audience but lot of motivation also. They make us believe in the power of self confidence, determination and hard work.

Some movies are painful also to watch, but if they are based on real life scenarios then I prefer watching them, just for knowledge sake. For e.g. there is one movie on Netflix, Society of the Snow, where the plane crashes in the Andes and the survivors are stuck there for 72 days without food and any other supplies. The story feels gross at certain times, but it is important to see what extent a human can go for survival. To be honest, some of the scenes were too much for me to see so I saw them in fast forward mode, but the essence of the movie was captured. Then there is another one very inspiring movie of a female Swimmer name Nyad, who swims from cuba to florida at the age of 64 with multiple failure attempts and finally making it. I did not even know such a woman existed until I saw the movie.

There are all sorts of movies getting released, some are just for fun, which also I enjoy. I enjoy watching comedy and love stories also. It's a feel good factor after watching these movies. But at the end of the day, I believe they are purely for entertainment purpose and should not go beyond that. Motivational movies are good to be remembered and learned from. I also enjoy watching spiritual movies, because somewhere they also help in my spiritual growth. For e.g. one of them I watched some time back, 90 minutes in heaven and there is such a beautiful message on that movie. The story talks about, it's not always about giving help, but one must also learn to receive help, which a lot of people refrain from with their ego.

My sister is not fond of movies and she always tells me that it's a waste of time, but to be honest I do not believe so. It's provided what kind of movies we are watching.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

Movies are really very nice to watch, they teach really life examples and values and sometimes they do give a valuable lesson which is really hard to get even when you're a genius!!

There are all sorts of movies, one must be sensible in selecting what to watch

Movies based on true stories really stick with you and teach valuable lessons. It’s amazing how they show the strength of the human spirit and inspire us to keep going, no matter the challenges.

Right, they can be a great motivation if one thinks it that way

Right, It's not a waste of time if we decide which type of movies to watch and have a good why with regards to watching them. I also prefer watching movies based on true stories, it's only the genre of movies I know I can give it my full attention to better help in my understanding of reality. Sometimes, I do watch action movies, but mostly for the fun of it :)

Ya, like I enjoy watching comedy, some times they make no sense, but it makes me feel so light hearted that I enjoy watching them
