The Celebration buzz around birthdays

in #lifeyesterday

Well, it's not my birthday but this is my thought around the birthday celebrations. For some of us our birthdays are a day of big importance and we celebrate it in grand ways, but there are so many people out there who do not even know what is their birth date. It just makes me wonder how for some people it has no significance at all. Especially people living in rural areas, some of them do not even know what their age is. 50 -70 years back birth registration processes were not very organized in the interior areas of my country and when children were born, parents did not keep any note of the day or year.

My house help when he had come for the first time to my place and I had asked him his birthday, he said he does not know when his birthday is, he did not even know how old he was. He had no idea. So, then he started celebrating his birthday on my son's birthday. After few years he changed the day and started celebrating on some other day. I treat him like my son so I asked him why did he changed the date, so he said he got to ko know the month of his birthday, he still does not know the date and year. So he picked up the date and year of my son's birthday and the month he chose to keep his original which was fair enough.

My new house that I build recently, there is a couple caretaker over there. During the legal formalities I checked that both of them had their birthdays on the same day 1st of Jan, so I casually told them, what a good thing that is. They told me they do not know their dates or month, they only know the year, so they chose this date and month for legal registration. Though the man celebrates his birthday with his son in April and I find all of it very complicated. But then it is their convenience and who am I to interfere in that.

I do not deny, even I am always very excited to celebrate my birthday, big or small but there has to be a celebration. And when I meet some people who have no interest in their birthdays I find it very strange. It does not always have to be big and with everyone. I remember on one of my birthday's I was travelling for work and I was all alone, I was feeling depressed but that did not stop me from celebrating my day by myself. That's the kind of person I am, I cannot help it :-)

From my childhood it has been like that, on my birthday I would start my day by visiting the Temple and evening time there would be some celebration, it can be just with family or friends, whatever is convenient on that day. Anyways, my personal take is that it is an important day of our life, which is only meant for us and one must celebrate.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

I also belong to the class of people that don't celebrate their birthdays, mostly I just pray and thank God for the gift of life. Most of my birthdays that were celebrated were surprise birthdays from either my husband or family.

But I am very deliberate about celebrating my kids birthday, I do it every year 🥳🎉

I am the opposite one, I like to celebrate and never leave it for hubby or son, because I want it all my way....haha

I'm not big on birthdays but definitely need to celebrate that day in a meaningful way because it happens every year and marks the moment I started this journey here on Earth. More than New Year's day, I think birthdays are one of the best times to reflect on one's life and revisit plans, adjust if necessary, etc.

Me too, it may not be big but something special has to be done. It is one of those special day in the year which is meant only for you and get all the attention and love
