Hello!
I was reading twitter and I found a tweet about Nuclear energy from the user @MichaelAArouet.
I will show you the chart at the end of the post.
In today’s world, energy is a big problem. Everyday we need more and more energy but we also want clean air and less CO2. The green parties are pushing for the closure of Nuclear power plants and pushing for other green energy sources such as solar, wind or hydro.
Many countries stopped building nuclear plants in the past. People were scared of accidents like Chernobyl or Fukushima. But now the situation is different. We have better technology. New nuclear plants are safer. And the planet is in trouble because of too much pollution.
Nuclear energy gives a lot of power without CO2, the smoke you see in the Nuclear power plants is water!!
Nuclear power doesn’t depend on the weather like solar or wind. Sun and wind are great, but what happens at night or when it’s not windy? Nuclear works 24 hours a day and is a good choice to have a reliable source of energy.
The chart: Germany vs China
This chart really shows two very different stories.
Germany stopped nuclear energy completely!
China is building more than ever...
The best question is: Why??
Germany started using nuclear in the 1970s (according to this chart) and reached the top in the 2000s. But after the Fukushima accident in Japan in 2011, they changed direction fast.
Many Germans were afraid of nuclear accidents. Also, the green political parties are strong there. So, step by step, Germany shut down all their nuclear power plants.
China is doing the opposite. They want more clean energy.
SPOILER: Nuclear is also green energy!
And they want energy security. They want to have enough energy to power their factories and all the industry they have. I also assune they don’t want to depend too much on oil or coal. Nuclear gives a lot of energy with no CO2 emissions. At this point China already produces more nuclear than Germany ever did, and this trend is not stopping anytime soon.
Germany is fucked, and they don't even know it.
I hope you have a great week!
