This entire proposal refers to Hive-Engine Github issue 31.
Here is the issue in a nutshell:
We have been recently contacted about fixing Hive-Engine Github issue 31, so we know this issue is "still open", we have spent several hours already researching and scoping the issue, and we think we can fix it.
After scoping this issue and a potential fix, my developer said to me, "is there a test net?" and "I don't know how many hours it will take to spin up a server".
Oh man, my heart sank. A quick idea, we can do - "low hanging fruit", this is my jam. But several hours outside of his comfort zone is enough to make any developer "unviable" and expensive.
That's when I had a great idea!! There are lots of "non-consensus" nodes, already running - helpful or want-to-be helpful people just interesting in supporting and learning hive-engine, even if they don't "make money".
So we got in touch with @borniet of @bot-lord and now we are ready to start "testing" this weekend!
We are asking $900 in BEE
We are assuming: $.20 HIVE and 0.4 HIVE/BEE thus:
11,250 BEE over 3 months.
What we will produce:
We will produce a PR (pull-request) that solves issue 31 and has been tested.
If there is time and spare capacity we will also update the documentation as appropriate, but this is not guaranteed delivery.
Where the money will go:
50% will go to developer: @mirafun
30% will go to node runner: @borniet
20% will go to project manager: @ecoinstant
Note: It is up to the Hive-Engine team to accept or reject the PR.
They are busy, they will want to further test and validate, we may even (be quite interested in) help[ing] them. But this proposal does not rely on acceptance into the official code base. We are only "doing the work".
To round out this post, I will include a fun little link for you all. The whole site is a rabbit hole, but I think this is relevant for today.
