Graxoth Tells All
Once upon a time, Meloria, on this very planet, there was a wise and just Emperor named Valorus. Under his rule, from royal to peasant, all agreed that life was good.
Sadly, his success as an emperor was overshadowed by his failure as a father. Valorus the Next was raised to be a cruel, uncaring child and his greed cost Terrasia almost everything as soon as he assumed the throne.
It was then that I arrived, an exiled prince from a faraway world. I felt the plight of your people as though they were my very own and worked tirelessly to right all that was wrong and keep the Emperor's wrath at bay.
Few know this but, The Emperor and Empress were cursed by the gods to never conceive a child. This terrible fate was earned by their wicked deeds toward the people of Terrasia. Having seen my many successes, the royals asked me to help them conceive. But I could not do so in good conscience.
So they went, against my wishes and pleas, to the orphanage to find a girl child. They aimed to raise her and one day sell her via marriage to another planet's royal house. They found the perfect baby at the orphanage but alas she had a twin. They could not sell one girl as profitably if she had a duplicate so they ordered that helpless baby to be executed. I could not let this be, so I paid the orphanage to keep her safe and hidden.
I was just as surprised as anyone else when Princess Valoria grew up and we fell in love. I may have royal blood but my titles were stolen so we hid our romance. I thought we were waiting for the moment when I could prove myself worthy to woo and marry her openly. I was wrong.
I had been blinded by her beauty and only realised too late that she loved another. I was but a means to an end, allowing her the freedom she needed to flee her family, responsibilities and station to run away with a common thug named Tim.
But I do not come to you as a jilted lover. The stakes are far higher than that. Her absence has the power to destabilize Terrasia. I know for a fact that her parents were negotiating betrothal offers and if she disappears without having accepted any, all the royals involved will assume they were cheated and an as yet unknown party has received the Princess instead. That means war and a new era of suffering unlike anything Terrasia has ever known.
Your world needs you, Meloria Kinless. Will you do what is needed? For peace?

So, this is the last installation of ‘As Yet Untitled’ that I'll be posting to this blog. I've decided to separate my serialized stuff onto a new blog to simplify things as I publish. You can add @olivebluegreen if you'd like to keep reading these stories. It's pretty empty there right now but it'll get more active over the next few days.
Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day! 😘
