Is there really a definite way to define success, because there are a lot of actions we take as human beings that can guarantee if we have lived a successful life or and arrogant one.
For a long time, I used to think success was only about material things like having a lot of money, building houses, driving fine cars, and being recognized by society. While those are great achievements no doubt, over time I have come to realize that success means something deeper and more personal. As human beings, based on our experiences with life, the trials and tribulations we have had to go through just to be able to survive in this world alone is enough to define our purpose and fulfillment in this life. My point exactly is that success is not all about what we have achieved externally but it also has to do with the innermost part of our lives.
In other words, success is not all about material things which has to do with money, wealth, building of houses, cars, jewelries, high fashion, political offices, and so many more rather success has to do with something personal and deeper than just material things most times. Don't get me wrong, I am not against the fact that people work so hard throughout their lifetime and tend to reward themselves with material things just to prove that they have made it in life. It is a good thing no doubt because no one can achieve such feet without hard work and determination.
However, when it comes to a general definition of success it has to be based on a person's innermost feelings on how life goes for them.
There are several ways to define success that would exceed just materialistic things but represent the deep and personal aspect of a person, some of these includes personal growth,relationships, contentment, gratitude, peace of mind, health, well-being. Although no person can achieve 100% fulfillment from these but even 50% is enough to call it success.
For me personally come on contentment and gratitude has worked for me over time to the extent that I only focus on myself and I am grateful for everything and I have why I continue to strive to get more. This is a fact because there are most people in our contemporary world that are not satisfied with what they have no matter how small or big they have it they tends to do all sort of things so as to be able to match the pressure of those who live fake life in the society.
In conclusion, defining sucees is based on people's perception, while some believe it solely has to do with materialistic things, others believe it's beyond that and has to sow with deep and personal achievements.
