Hello everyone, happy afternoon. This week marks three months since my little dog, Blanquita Carolina, was rescued and adopted. Just like her, there are so many little angels out there waiting for a chance at life to be rescued, adopted, have a home, a family, attention, love, care, and daily food.
When we got Blanca, there were already several reports on social media from some foundations in the city and animal rescuers, warning that the dog had possibly been abandoned near the Farmatodo in Guanipa, a place where people have recently become accustomed to abandoning pets because they know they are protected by the staff and many of the customers.
But there was also the possibility that she was lost, since although she was thin, she didn't have fleas or ticks, her fur looked healthy, and we learned that she was a puppy; her first heat was just beginning. Another detail was that she was completely disoriented, running in front of cars and jumping around, following people. So we put up posters everywhere to see if anyone would report her missing and claim her, but no luck. Time passed and no one showed any sign of wanting her back.
She followed me for several days until she found where I lived, and one morning as I was leaving, I saw her outside the house. I got nervous because she followed me all the way to the bus stop, and I was terrified she'd cross the avenue and get hit by a car.
When I came back, I found her waiting for me in the same spot. She followed me home and wouldn't leave. I put her in the yard, gave her food and water. I contacted the animal rescue organizations and rescue groups that had reported her missing, and we decided she could stay temporarily until we found her a home.
They gave lots of donations for her veterinary care, falling, food, deworming, and everything else she needed. The adoption didn't go through because Snoopy became very attached to her, and I thought that if I took her, he might get sad. So here's Blanquita, the only female in the pack, and the princess of the house.

Hola a todos, feliz tarde. Esta semana se cumplieron tres meses desde que mi perrita Blanquita Carolina fue rescatada y adoptada. Así como ella, hay tantos angelitos allá afuera esperando una oportunidad de vida para ser rescatados, adoptados, tener un hogar, una familia, atención, amor, cuidados y alimentación diariamente.
Cuando conseguimos a Blanca, ya había varios reportes en las redes de algunas fundaciones de la ciudad y de proteccionistas, avisando que la perrita posiblemente había sido abandonada cerca del Farmatodo de Guanipa, sitio donde últimamente acostumbran a abandonar mascotas porque saben que son protegidos por el personal que ahí labora y muchos de los clientes.
Pero también cabía la posibilidad de que estuviera perdida, ya que aunque estaba delgada, no tenía ni pulgas ni garrapatas, su pelaje se veía sano, y se supo que era cachorra, su primer celo apenas comenzaba. Otro detalle era que estaba totalmente desorientada, se le atravesaba a los carros, y saltaba por todos lados, siguiendo a la gente. Por lo que pusimos anuncios por todos lados a ver si alguien la reportaba perdida y la reclamaba, pero qué va, pasaba el tiempo y nadie dio señales de que quisiera recuperarla.
A mí me siguió por varios días, hasta que dio con el lugar donde yo vivía y una mañana cuando yo iba saliendo, me la encontré fuera de la casa. Me puse nerviosa porque me siguió hasta la parada y yo quedé con el temor de que cruzara la avenida y la atropellaran.
A mi regreso, la encontré esperándome en el mismo sitio, me siguió hasta la casa y de ahí no se quiso ir. La dejé adentro del jardín, le puse alimento, y agua. Participé a las fundaciones y proteccionistas que la reportaron, y decidimos que se quedara temporalmente hasta darla en adopción.
Dieron muchos donativos para su consulta veterinaria, esterilización, alimentos, desparasitantes, y cuantas cosas necesitara para atenderla. La adopción no se concretó porque Snoopy se encariñó muchísimo con ella, y pensé que si me la llevaba, él podía afectarse por tristeza. Así que aquí está Blanquita, la única hembra de la manada, y la princesa de la casa.
