Well friends as I promised you yesterday today I am back to share with you my list of the best cards of the day, in the market of our favorite game Rising Star. So my colleagues, today I want to talk about a great song that as I said before is more than well known. It is the song “What is Love” by the band Haddaway. You must have heard this song directly or indirectly many times on the internet. I say this because it is very used by people who make memes, you know because of the question that is asked in the title of the song. Well the thing is that this song just today is turning 31 years old, with 5 months and 23 days, I know it's a very exact date haha. It's half way to 32 years, which is a lot.

And just look at how many videos are uploaded daily on the networks with this theme included, I think there is no better example of the appreciation that the fans have for him. In my personal case I like it a lot and I listen to it often. The song belongs to the eurodance genre and I think it is one of the most iconic songs of this genre in the 90s.

To begin with, I personally love eurodance. It's not that I just like it, it's that I'm a fan of the genre. Right now I have a very large playlist of many songs that are within the genre. I think if I started listening to all of them I wouldn't finish in a long time. When I have free time and I want to listen to new eurodance music what I do is to go hunting for new tracks so to speak. When I say new, I mean new ones I haven't listened to, from the 80's-90's era.

What I usually do is to search through the compilations on youtube. That's where I've found a lot of the eurodance music I listen to today. These compilations save me a lot of work because I have a lot to choose from in one video. At the end of the news I'm going to leave you one of these compilations plus the video of the song so you can remember it. So not to bore you I met the song we are talking about today in one of these compilations. I remember exactly which video it was in, so that's the compilation I'm going to share with you. Needless to say, it was one of my favorite songs ever since. And for several reasons.

For example, I really like the meaning of the song itself. If we analyze it in depth we realize that it is not as cheerful as it seems at first sight. First of all this is my appreciation and my opinion, not that it is exactly what I am going to say. I say this because everyone sees it in a different way. Well, I was saying this because of the questions that the singer asks in the lyrics. For example, what is love, why does it hurt, why does it hurt even more when it should be something beautiful?

I think that deep down, the lyrics have an air of disillusionment, of someone who has gone through the pain that love can bring. And this contrasts a lot with the beat and the upbeat tone, as if it were a sad song disguised as a party. And that's when I realized something, eurodance has a lot of that, like it makes us dance while it actually tells you something much more serious, that sometimes we don't even hear because we are so caught up in the rhythm. But of course we can also see it from a positive perspective.

From the music of the song itself I really like the mix of the fast rhythm it has, the truth is that it sounds powerful and it is even a bit melancholic. It is a perfect example of eurodance music, that's why I always say that it is among the best of the genre. So now you just have to listen to it. Either to remember it or who knows and you've been living under a rock and it's the first time you're going to listen to it haha. I'm not judging you though, I'm still rediscovering a lot of 90's music. It's just a lot of good music that one hasn't heard yet.
