It was probably on some random playlist while I was looking into Gaga's stuff. Now what I'm interested in is telling you some things about the lyrics and the general meaning of the song. I think it would be better to start with the obvious, the lyrics clearly talk about applause, but this actually refers to recognition. The truth is that Gaga makes it very clear. Here she says that what motivates her to continue forward in her career and in other parts of her life is the applause of her fans, or more directly the recognition of those who enjoy music.

I think there won't be much trouble in understanding this because she says it several times in the lyrics. You know, I really like this song because even though the song is practically dedicated to her, it is very useful for us as well. In fact, we can learn a lot from it. I think we all agree that in a certain way we seek recognition like her, right? In fact, if you think about it, many of the things that one does are also driven by others seeing that one is worth something as a person. Of course, it doesn't necessarily have to be like a show. Suppose that at work you only work well when there are bosses present, hoping to get recognition. But then when they leave you work badly because no one is watching. As you can see, you have to see this in an intermediate point. In other words, as the song says, it is good to seek motivation in the applause of others, but we should not make it the main method of motivation. I think you have already understood the point.
