Do you know which one it is? Well, with so few clues, I think not, although if you are a fan of the group, maybe you do. 😅 Well, the song I am talking about is Stayin' Alive by the band Bee Gees. I bet you remember it now, it is very well known. I bet that some of you have heard it at some point in your life because it has been practically everywhere since it was released.

You know, in my personal case, I knew it when I was little, but I didn't do it through the classic route that I'm sure most of you used to see it. That is to say, I didn't discover it through the movie Saturday Night Fever, which could be said to have boosted the song's fame even further. In fact, I saw this movie long after I had heard the song for the first time. In my case, the way I discovered it was a bit more childish. 😅

I told you this because I first heard it in the animated film Madagascar. I'm sure you remember that movie. Specifically, this song is used in a scene where the animals escape from the zoo. Well, to be more specific, the zebra was the one who wanted to escape. The others followed suit, why tell you that, you've probably already seen it, that's another classic. The thing is that in that scene where the zebra decides to run away to explore the world, they play Stayin' Alive in the background. I really liked listening to it at that moment, although I really didn't understand why they had used it. You know, years later I understood how well the lyrics fit the context. Because the zebra wanted to face the unknown, or fight for its freedom by learning to survive. And that's exactly what the song is about, I don't think they could have chosen it better, it fits really well.

You know, this is not the first song I've known thanks to Madagascar. In fact, a few weeks ago I told you about one of Edith Piaf's songs that I got to know thanks to Madagascar 3. In this case, today's song I got to know in part 1 of the saga. I applaud the sound editors for choosing such good songs. In fact, if I hadn't heard them there, I probably wouldn't know them today. Did you get to know it like this? You know where to leave me the answer. I'd like to know, I mean if you want to tell me, of course. 😅. I told you before that the song is catchy because of the meaning it has and I'm going to tell you so you understand. You see, the song is about standing firm in an environment that we could say seems to be against us.

And that was what was happening to the zebra, it was entering a new world. If you listen carefully to the lyrics, the Bee Gees speak quite clearly about the world around us being chaotic and having a lot of pressure, and it's very true. 😅 And of course there is also the part where it says that we should not give up on those things and move on. It is a very nice message and in my opinion it is always current. I think that is why the song never goes out of style. Literally the lesson of the song is to get up every day and face whatever comes. And I already know what many are thinking, "it is very easy to say it" and in fact I think the same, all this sounds very nice on paper, or digital text like this 😅. But friends, it is worse to always see things with a negative mind.

It is true that it may sound a little unreal for some people, especially if they are going through a very difficult time. But in the end, one way or the other, there is always a way to get ahead and that is what the song says. It is not that we are going to get out of problems just like that, it is little by little.
