Greetings Hive Worlds! It's me again Iris from East Java Indonesia. If you happened to read my post about Pasar Atom, this is the part 2 that focusing on the main attraction of this shopping mall: The food stalls!
Actually, the most famous part about this shopping place is its culinary features. If you need to find some particular snacks, vintage treats or Chinese candies and other sweets, here is the place to go! I always love how the stall owner display their goods, buy putting together display in miryard colors neatly. I tried to capture it because it is so appetizing.
The food court also one of its best features, because it host so many famous cuisine of Surabaya. It is located on the the top floor of the building and filled up the half of the floor. It was pretty crowded on the lunch time, but usually we have to queue to be seated. Still, it is fun to see people filled up the tables with so many expressions.
On the ground floor, there are some famous vendor as well that sell 'kue basah' or traditional delicacies from various culture. I always like how they showcase the food that made people interested to stop by and try it.
On the outside part, you can find pedestal style food vendors that also sell interesting snacks, such as frieds and fritters, and the famous 'Bubur Campur' or literally translated as mixed porridge, because it mixes several gooey dessert top up with palm sugar syrup and savory coconut sauce.
It was the place when I found so many things that I like. The flavors that will always filled my heart with good memories and simple joy. Even though now we can order most of the food online, but still the charm of queuing to get my favorite treats is unique and indescribable. It's always feels like visiting an old friend house whenever I came here.
Thank you for stopping by and reading my personal journey about the place that always be the icon of Surabaya city, the capital of East Java. I still need to learn a lot about photography technique, and here's my attempt to describe my feelings when I took this picture. I hope you enjoy visiting this place through my phone's lense.
