Water lilies in a pond in Duke Gardens, Durham, North Carolina.
Great little pond with several different colors of water lilies.
The water lilies are grown in sunken cages below the surface.
The cages are to keep the lilies in place and provide some order to the pond.
My favorite color was the purple ones so most of my pictures were purple.
But the white ones are the classic one. Great garden. I could have spent all day wandering the paths.
Lilies have really pretty flowers, especially the purple one.

I love the purple ones best, too! Waterlilies in gardens here are grown in sunken pots so that they can be brought in and protected during the winter.
Thanks. Maybe they protect these in the winter too but I think North Carolina has mild enough winters for the lilies to survive
