My flower beds are starting to have new blooms
Sweet William is a perennial with clusters of small flowers.
Sweet William comes in many colors and patterns.
Four different blooms so far in our bed. We tossed a variety packet of Sweet William at the back of one of our beds and they are doing great this year (year 4).
This beauty is my favorite.

I had always thought Sweet William was a biennial. It readily self seeds, so I always have it in my beds, but there's always plants with no flowers, as they will flower the following year. Maybe they have a perennial version now...

No you are correct its a biennial/short lived perennial. It doesn't last more than a few years and readily re-seeds itself. Thanks for checking out my posts 👍
