Today is a #sublimesunday (by @c0ff33a ). We have been dog sitting for a couple days so are glad to be back at home with no responsibilities for a day. Love those dogs (a golden retreiver and a cocker spaniel) but there is no place like home 😉 Speaking of pets haha I have been working on helping out this maple tree. It is about 35 ft tall and looks great this fall. But when we moved in, there were some vines covering it stealing sunlight and some sumac that were in front of it on the edge of the woods stealing more light. btw the burning bush at the lower left of the photo was also lost in the undergrowth.

The burning bush put on lots of berries this year. Burning bush is considered invasive these days but I like this one where it is and am keeping it around.

Its overcast today but still a #beautifulsunday (by @ace108 ). Paper birch along the drive are yellow with brown leaves on the bottom. A few maples in the tree line and some aspen on the right. And of course the white pines above it all.

This tall (80 ft) swamp maple was left when our house was built and rules over the yard. It is supposed to turn red but usually just holds on to its leaves as long as it can, turns a little yellow, then drops them. Many maple trees have changed or are even bare, its still mostly green.

I did make the walk down to the lake this morning. Foliage looks good but its overcast and some light ripples were preventing crisp reflections. Still looks nice but not the stunning fall picture I'm still chasing this year...
