Its already mid-October. Peak leaf colors or maybe even slightly past. But I got all these pictures around the yard today.

We have lots of Dahlia around the flower beds. We got some tubers from a neighbor a couple of years ago and every year there are more. We have been making beds for the dahlia in the spring then putting tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths bulbs in when we dig up the tubers in the fall. Getting a nice amount of perrenials built up.

Hydrangeas are still pretty but living on borrowed time. We will cut them back soon for the winter.

The petunias are perhaps the biggest surprise.

We make some baskets and hang them in the garden each spring. We stopped watering them a while ago but the petunias are hanging around enjoying the cooler weather.

I liked this photo showing Rudbeckia in different states of decline. Hope you enjoyed my photos of "alternative" fall colors even if the fall leaf peeping hasn't been great this year.
