Happy World Wildlife Day!

in Photography Lovers12 hours ago

There's likely something to be celebrated every day of the calendar; I tend to be oblivious to most of them, but learned yesterday what was the motto for today, and since I feel that this theme should be celebrated everyday, couldn't let this pass in blank.

Today, it's World Wildlife day!

Wildlife should be cherished everyday, especially given how year by year, their home shrinks a little more; and unfortunately, humans are a big (all?) part of it. I feel blessed everytime I can see a wild animal in their habitat, and I do wonder sometimes if I will be able to see some of the species I've seen again.

Mammals, birds, reptiles, fish... I love them all. Ever since I was a child. Such that working with animals is what I do for a living.

And they all have a place in the grand scheme of things, even the ones that scare some of you!

I would like to believe there will come a time that humanity will show the respect these creatures deserve. This post is a humble hommage to all of them, and especially the ones I was able to capture on camera in all my travels. From the skies of Africa...

... I am so fortunate to have had all these encounters!

Wildlife watching is one of my main reasons to travel (not a surprise to the ones that visit this blog sometimes, right?), and I hope to able to continue travelling and taking wildlife photos through the rest of my life. And add new species to the big list of animals I've already seen.

With the thousands of species out there, there's still so much to see. Even in my home country, there are a lot of species I'm yet to see for the first time!

Who knows, maybe this will be the year some of them will delight me with their presence! Even if they're partially hidden in the surrounding nature.

I agree with you, friend, wildlife must be loved. I like the raccoon style it's very adorable.

My favorite among these is the toad (frog?). There is just something about those guys that make me smile every time.
