The Flower Parade

in Photography Lovers3 days ago

Today I'd like to share my experience at the flower parade I visited during the weekend. I've seen a lot of events in TV, but never in person, till now.

Flower festival.jpg

Obviously I had an idea about what to expect, but you never know. It was a 3 day event, so in this heat using only fresh flowers would be suicide, but the flower artists know that very well and were prepared.

This was the first composition I saw after entering and loved it right away. Flowers and books belong together and the wall made of threads is an excellent idea. Looks really good.

There was a tron for whoever wanted to feel like a queen, it's just that touching any of the creations was strictly forbidden, which is understandable.

20250920_115318a.JPG

There was a lady standing behind the tron, elegantly dressed with a nice floral hat and a nice flower bouquet in her hand.

20250920_115402a.jpg

Then there was this gingerbread house with lollypops and gingerbread men. This proves when it comes to creativity, sky is the limit, and you haven't seen anything yet.

20250920_115434a.JPG

I'm not entirely sure, but I think this is the forest fairy (is there a forest fairy at all? 😆) and the forester? I love the lady's dress and the blower string around her neck. The hat is also lovely.

20250920_115506a.JPG

Here's the princess in her horse pulled chariot. As always, every photo took a lot of time to take as I had to wait for minutes in front of every composition, till people moved out of the way. This is why I went there fairly early, but even so, there was a crowd already.

20250920_115517a.JPG

20250920_115552a.JPG

I was really impressed by this composition. Loved the light blue dress with the white flowers and the colorful flowers around her. The chariot is also worth to be mentioned, look at the quality. I don't want to name my favorites before I show you everything, so let's move on.

20250920_115621.jpg

This was a bit confusing. I think this was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, as I see the dwarfs, but snow white is not dressed in white. Regardless, it was really lovely.

20250920_115653.jpg

A shoe, maybe Cinderella's shoe?

20250920_115714.jpg

Winnie-the-Pooh?

20250920_115731.jpg

20250920_115808.jpg

... and this was maybe the most interesting one. These figurines were big, over 2 meters, maybe 2.5 or 3m.

20250920_115816.jpg

I tried to figure out what these were made of, but my knowledge is not enough. It was a dry material, but looked good.

20250920_115820(0).jpg

20250920_115838.jpg

This was the cavemen family and there was a story there well, their story. One day the family found a special flower, that contained the power of life.

20250920_115855.jpg

Maybe this was Snow White and escaped from the dwarfs? I'm just joking, of course.

20250920_115913.jpg

Two butterfly ladies, dressed up in tutus.

20250920_120005.jpg

At this point it was obvious that the organizers wanted to capture the attention of the youngest category to feel good and make some nice memories. This is the only way to win them over.

20250920_120034.jpg

20250920_120237.jpg

20250920_120245.jpg

Then I met Mr. Big Brown Bear, which seems a joke, but not to us, who live here. It looked great and I love them, but lately they are ruling our country and going to the woods is riskier than you think. They are roaming around at the outskirts of the city, 1.5km from my flat and we get alerts regularly. Regardless, this big brown bear looked really nice.

20250920_120301.jpg

Then there was this lady, happy about something.

20250921_111346.jpg

On Saturday, these cars were parading in the city center (as far as I know), but I wasn't there, so on Sunday they brought them to the exhibition and I could take some photos of them. It says the power of community, it is written in Hungarian.

20250921_111358.jpg

There were some lovely flowers there, I would be happy to have them.

20250921_112447.jpg

I stood here for 5 minutes, waiting for people to move away and still could not take the perfect shot.

20250921_112503.jpg

These were real flowers and honestly, I felt sorry for them as there were 30C out there. Most likely they were watered after the crowd left, but even so ...

20250921_112517.jpg

Wildlife was nicely represented.

20250921_112539.jpg

There were some nice swans here, but it was impossible to take a decent photo from the front. Literally impossible.

20250921_115817.jpg

The cherry on the cake was this lady and the three others that are coming on the next photo. I loved her dress/composition a lot and everyone wanted a photo with her, this is why it was impossible to capture her alone.

20250921_115830.jpg

I was lucky with these 3 ladies as they stopped and posed for me, even thought the light was not what I'd like. You need to learn to take photos regardless of the conditions and that's exactly what I did.

20250921_115832.jpg

I could imagine a parade, or a fashion show with clothes like these. Love it. They were nice and posed for everyone.

20250921_110150a.jpg

Overall it was a fun experience. This was the second edition. I missed the first one last year, but I'm not going to miss the next one.

As you could already figure out, these ladies are my favorite, the one in the black dress included, the lady in the chariot, the stone age, or the cavemen family. Let's see which one is yours.

interesting concept, making something artistic with flowers and plants... if i have to pick a favorite, that would be this one

i can see even without the front shot thats a great piece

That was a lovely one and I was annoyed that could not take a photo from the right angle, but there's little you can do under those circumstances. I always go early, to avoid crowd, but even so ...

Yeah, I understand you, on big fairs here it's impossible to get clean shots too...

in the Netherland we always have many flower corso , on wheels riding through cities always a joy to see .

just an example : https://www.youtube.com/live/kdLXzsRqWBA?feature=shared

Growing flowers in the Netherlands is not the same as in my country, so no wonder ...

The truth is that it's quite a challenge to use fresh flowers in such hot weather, but artists have their tricks and experience, ha ha ha, which is something to be respected and admired. The compositions are truly beautiful in a unique space, and it's great that you had the time to stop by and take these photos. My favorite composition is definitely Snow White.

I know they are sticking the flowers into some material like a sponge and you can water that sponge to keep them hydrated, but still, over 30C temperatures are going to destroy them eventually.

Yeah, it was interesting and hoping to visit it next year too.

It must be a regular event in your country too.

So much artistry and beauty in this wonderful event... it's really hard to choose, but the queen's throne and the carriage with the woman are beautiful... but when I saw this one... I love horses! It looks great!😍

I couldn't agree more. Look at those horses, like they would be real. Before seein what they had, I was afraid it was kitsch, but you see no such thing there.

But all the works are beautiful, and I love the flowers. I wish I could see something like this in person. It's so beautiful!😍

Maybe one day you will as these flower parades are popular, not only in Latin America.

I'm sure there will be one here in Spain; we'll see what the city council organizes next spring.

I bet there are. Keep an eye out for them :)

I won't do it! There's so much to see! I'm excited.

wow, that's impressive. So many colors and diversity of flowers. It seems like something magical, an enchanted place 🥰

It was indeed, I didn't expect to see so many beautiful compositions. I hope next year it'll be even more nicer.

It's really beautiful. My eyes are delighted watching these flowers created in artistry. The people who made it, had a fantastic idea and so much artistry or creativity. Here in Baguio City, there's a Grand Floral Floats Parade wherein they use fresh flowers too, leaves and plants during Panagbenga Festival and others that are inspired from nature.
I really love the photos🤗

That flower parade must be a dream come true. I love the first composition you saw when u entered the place was a book and flower sat close with each other. I agree to your statement that they belong together and often they are used in classic movies, which of course symbolizes an idea. Your experience was a child-like and magical one. Im sure you were happy to see disney characters in the parade. They are part of our childhoods. I kinda laughed about the part you said that was Snow White🤣 You got me there. LoL. And that figurines? They look like trolls and are so cuteee.
