Photos of Photos

It's time for me to show you the rest of the photos I took at the photo exhibition. There's another one open at the moment and want to make sure to visit it, so it is planned for Wednesday, if nothing bad happens, because what I'm going to see is the Photo Exhibition of Nations held in Hungary in 2024. This means only the best photos will be displayed.

But today, let's back to the exhibition I visited in May. If you missed my post about the first part of the exhibition, you can check it here.

At The Dawn of Pentecost

A lovely photo capturing the vibe of a religious celebration. I like how the light is coming from behind the people marching with the religious flags and casting some long shadows.

X

Don't ask me why this photo is called X, I have no clue. It looks like a golden hour photo, which it is obviously, but at the top of the mountain, covered by snow. At that altitude, nature is king and if you don't respect nature, you pay the price. I love this. Would be glad to have it on my wall.

Last Sunshine

I'd call this the last ray of sun, but it's fine as it is. It's a gorgeous photo in my opinion. Look at that undisturbed landscape, with a small island-like piece of land, where the church is. I'm wondering if the church is still in use and how far is the first house from there.

Green Oasis

Speaking of oasis, right? I keep saying, drone photography is taking over and look at the photos here. The last two, or maybe three are drone photos. I'm not against them if you're wondering, because it grants you the possibility to capture photos from places and altitudes you would never capture without a drone. This photo is amazing. The green surrounding the forest, lovely.

Migration

This is a scene I'd like to capture one day. I'm not saying I have never tried. Last year and a couple of years before I had a post about the bunch of birds flying above my flat. they used to do that every night and morning, but the background was not what I wanted. Here on the other hand, the birds are in the background and the focus is on them. The particularity of this photo is how the birds fly. Look at the stripe they form. You don't see that every day. This photo is exceptional and I captured it very badly.

Dandelion

What can I say? If you're in the middle of a dandelion field, ot just next to a few one, such a photo is a must.

20250522_114708a.JPG

Pasqueflower

If I were to choose, I'd love to have this one on my wall. The colors and the tone of the photo is absolute fantastic. It's soft, delicate and has most of my favorite colors. Just perfect.

The Boss

Do I need to say more about this? I don't think so. Lucky to capture it though as these are wild animals and not happy to be in the company of humans.

Transalpina

The Transalpina or DN67C is a 148 km national road located in the Parâng Mountains group, Southern Carpathians of Romania, one of the highest roads of the Carpathian Mountains. It connects Novaci, south of Parâng Mountains, to Sebeș in the north. It is the highest road in Romania, having the highest point in Urdele Pass (at 2,145 m).

Being a high altitude mountain road it is closed during the winter, it stays open from mid May to mid October (depending on the weather) and only during daytime (08:00–20:00). source

This is one of the most interesting places of Romania, especially if you like to drive. I've been planning to visit it, but that time has not come yet. That doesn't mean it won't though. It's on my list and hopefully I'll get there next year.

The title of the exhibition was Point of View and you can see why. For me visiting these exhibitions is important as you can learn a lot from just looking at these photos, but only if you're willing to see as well, not just look 😄. I hope some of the photographers of this community will find these interesting.

i like Last Sunshine the most, it doesnt seem even real, i mean how is possible that around it's plain snow and trees are only around the church! it's also so lonely there, and the shadow sums it up, i wouldn't call 'last', i dont get why the title has last in it

my second favorite is Pasqueflower, that's a great shot, twins flowers like

drone photos are cool, but i don't know, i think you need more photograp skills with a camera yourself

One explanation could be the rest of the land is agricultural land, but we can't see it as it's covered by show. It's an isolated place and I suspect the church is not in use anymore. Churches are built in village centers, so ... I don't know.

I see drone photos as an accessory or addition to the regular photography. Without a drone, so many wonderful places would not get exposure as the next possibility available is taking photos from a helicopter and we know why that is quite impossible.

Photos from helicopter, that could be a new niche 😅

The pasque flower is very photogenic. It can be found here, but it is quite rare. It seems to be listed in the Red Book - at least I know for sure that picking this flower is prohibited and punishable by a fine. I have some photos of this flower taken with a Soviet manual lens. Of course, they are far from the photo presented at the exhibition.🙂

I'm glad you shared this with us as I had no time to read about it.

I checked now and don't think it's protected here. I see it has health benefits.

Wow!... "At The Dawn of Pentecost" is something impressive to see, it is a photo with a three-dimensionality and a wonderful visual impact... I don't know if you did it in the middle of your "already legendary battle against reflections and lights in exhibitions" :)) But having recorded the photo diagonally added a plus to the photo like that... I loved this photo, but I loved that capture angle even more!... As always, a masterful job!... I hope you do very well at that expo on Wednesday and that you bring a lot of things to share with us on #Hive @erikah friend!

This post was curated by @jlinaresp from the Visual Shots Team | Be part of our Curation Trail - Delegations are Welcome

Aww, @jlinaresp thank you for the nice words. You give me too much credit though 😜

Yes, I took the photo diagonally due to the glare and reflection. It's something I often do, because most of the times this is the only possible angle.

Well, the result was excellent, I suppose that being a horizontal rectangular photo (I estimate 4:6 proportion) and with a vanishing point increased by the shadows of the walkers projected forward by the sun behind them, ended up making that capture that you made diagonally add even more character... Photographers often don't realize it, friend @erikah, but when we take certain types of photos very frequently (like in my case street photos and in your case photos of works of art) we end up unconsciously creating skills to take better photos and we apply them instinctively... A photographer friend of mine calls that "personal signature" I like to call it "instinct"... But usually it's someone else who notices that, not ourselves... Thanks again for sharing!

Yes, that's correct.

I wouldn't say we don't realize it. I think it's a conscious act and a normal one, because you do that so often.

A photographer friend of mine calls that "personal signature" I like to call it "instinct"...

I think it's both actually.

It looks really an interesting photo exhibition! I like all of the ones in your post, but my favorite ones (even if I don't know why) are The boss and Dandelion. ❤️

The boss is epic. Dandelion has something innocent and soft in it. Or I'm just imagining it?

It's great to be able to learn from other photographers, especially about unexplored angles, lighting, shadows, and all the details. All the photographs are beautiful. The deer seems to be looking at the camera, which I love. You were there at just the right moment, and the photograph taken with the drone has dreamlike colours. Thank you for this post!

I know for a fact that photographers from the community have been inspired by such exhibitions and I'm glad I can bring these to the community as there is no other way for them to see them.

The biggest problem is I need to work magic to be able to take half decent photos. I had to learn how to find an angle to avoid reflection and glare and even so, sometimes there's no way to avoid it.

In addition, these beautiful exhibitions are widely publicised, so everyone can see them everywhere.

When the photo has glass... it's terrible!

All of these photos are wonderful, but I have selected a few that I liked the most. These are Dandelion and Pasqueflower of course, incredible shots 😍

Pasqueflower seems to be the most liked of all.

The colors in this photo are simply incredible, maybe the photo was taken at sunset or dawn

Yes, that's my thought exactly.

“Pasqueflower” is definitely frame-worthy! 💜

Yes, that's a nice one indeed.

Migration’ and ‘Pasqueflower’ are my favorites — I feel like they remind me how beautiful nature is when we just stop and look.

It's good that you were able to find some you like.

This next set of images doesn't touch upon that true "photographic capital A, Art" to me, sure, they're well composed, well exposed, and well presented / printed, but I do not find myself meditating on the underlying nature of reality.

I know not every photo needs that profound-ness to it, but I hunger for it!

There's another month or so before the local gallery rotates out the current exhibition, and I'm keen to see what goes in next!

The dawn of the pentecost reminds of our historical events here on the Philippines. Where we are colonize by the Spaniards for more than 300 years which led to what we are today. This is one of the greatest shots I have ever scene I am amaze of how lucky you are to see that in person.😍

I am amaze of how lucky you are to see that in person.😍

I only saw the photo as the original photo is not mine, unfortunately 😬

Even though it's not yours originally what I meant is that seeing the masterpiece is inspiring right?😇

Yes, I'm quite fortunate in this regard, to be able to visit so many amazing exhibitions for free.

All beautiful excivation photo, I love the most is the beauty of nature, the transalpina.. when you travel such a beauty of nature, going to mountain of Romania.. good place

I like X. That golden hour glow over a snow covered mountain, so serene but commanding. At that altitude, nature truly reigns.

All the pictures in this frame are really cool, but I have two favorite choices. The light during religious celebrations, the light from behind this line of people is very beautiful, and the second picture in the frame is also equally interesting, I like it.

So beautiful!

Ver tu propia perspectiva de las fotos me llena de felicidad. Es como tú propio entendimiento. Me gusta este post. Saludos

Some incredible pieces right there!! i want to reach that level one day!

I loved all the photos in this collection. Thank you for the good feeling you give us.

Well, thankful you took a picture of that. I love the art specially those mountain view☺️. I mean how can you take those beautiful artistic I want to take that too but maybe soon.
