Last week I scrolled through the photos on my phone, as I keep telling myself I should delete the ones I have already copied to my hard drive and don't need them on the phone. It's not a question of freeing up space as I still have plenty, it's a question of getting more organized, but free time is scarce, so ... this is the task that gets delayed the most.
Scrolling through the photos made me realize how many of the exhibition photos are still not posted. Interesting artworks, that deserve a spot on my blog as my art loving circle would like it, so I'm going to do my best, go back and try to post them.
Today I thought I'd do a mix post again, let's see who likes what and why. I love these as you don't get bored looking at only paintings or graphics, you get a great variety you can choose from. So, let's get started, shall we?
Maros Riverbank - Péter Nagy
I took this photo at a solo exhibition of Péter Nagy at the end of June last year. Looks like I didn't take a photo of the exhibition poster, or didn't save it in my folder, so I have no idea when the artist lived, if he's still with us. His name is very common, so finding him is kinda difficult. Based on the painting and the frame, it makes me think he's not a young artist. I like the landscape, but it's a bit too dark, gloomy for my taste. It makes me sad.
End Of The Village - Péter Nagy
Another landscape from the same artist, same style I'd say, but still, this canvas is a bit more friendly. What I like here is the visible brushstrokes.
This a graphics made by the same artist. Unfortunately I can't translate the title, but what you see here is, or should be a nude. It's not exactly my style, but I really admire how an artwork is made by using these lines and two colors.
Same style, from the same artist, with the same title I can't translate. This is a series, it has quite a few pieces and I'm going to show you the rest in another post. It is really fascinating how you can draw a silhouette, just by using these lines and drawing squares and triangles, whatever is needed, but for that, you need to have 3D vision I think and some skills as I, personally, would have no clue where to even start. I think you have to learn it, but I'd like to try it out one day.
We're changing style here. This photo was taken last year at the exhibition put together with the work of the 11th graders from the art school. Last week I posted about this year's exhibition but now I see there are works from last year I have not posted yet.
These paintings had no title, so it's up to us to decide what we see. I'm not sure what I see here honestly. Yes, there are some geometrical forms and shapes, nice colors, but what is it? The Universe? You tell me. I like ti though.
At first glance, it seems like a complicated painting, but I'd rather call it complex. If you dedicate 2 minutes, to study it, you will see how the layers are painted. I've never seen anything like this.
As i have just posted about this year's edition, now I can confirm that this layered style is a requirement, but how you execute it, is your decision as an artist and this is brilliant. I'm not saying, maybe those lines could be a little bit more finer, or the colors different, but not necessarily. Bernárd Baróti is going to be successful in a few years, if he continues his journey.
Dóra Csörögi got silver for this photo in 2023 at the International Photography Salon in Hungary. I'm not sure about you, but I love it. Geometrical forms always win me over and these colors together are amazing. Look at the dark brown, the beige and the green tractor.
Zorán Toldi - Father And Daughter
Silver medal in the general category. I think brilliant is an understatement. Look at those genuine faces. Nothing is fake here. Two people, who have lived a simple life, but worked all their lives. Happiness for them means a totally different thing. It is not about having luxurious houses, fast and expensive cars. They are content with life and at the end of the day, nothing else matters. These portraits are priceless, partly because people like them are hard to find.
Window
This photo was taken at the same day, at the same exhibition, just in a different exhibition room. Look at it, it's a window, inside a book, with a petrol lamp and the wind blown curtain. Really interesting.
Book 1
Something similar, yet different. A book with a window and curtain, but the letters are a huge mess inside the window.
I love them both and would be happy to have either or even both.
