Heads In Art

in Photography Lovers13 hours ago

Today I'm going to turn back to art as I've neglected it lately, with all kinds of topics that crossed path with my thoughts and sewing or course. It's nice to diversify topics, so I'm not complaining at all.

This week I think it's going to be an art week as I've skipped a few exhibitions and it's time to get back to my old routine. I hate missing out as you are missing unique chances with private collections that you only see once in life, but then again, there's life outside art as well.

Anyway, today I'd like to show you the rest of the photos I took at the solo exhibition of Simion Moldovan, a very talented artist with a unique style in art and vision of the world.

But before I start, I'd like to mention something I've been thinking about lately. Last week I was talking to my dad. At some point art came up and he mentioned he read it in the local paper, that it's going to be an exhibition in one of the galleries I frequently visit, but based on the photos presented, it's not going to to be a good one. To my question "why", he said it's abstract. He's not a regular art visitor and this shows his taste is limited to the so called "usual" art, and abstract is not covered by this expression. This conversation made me think of how much I've evolved in this regard as my interest in art used to be very limited too. Anyway, let's get back to today's topic.

It's a wooden board, with a very unique pattern on it, that reminds me of labyrinths. maybe it is a labyrinth, who knows.

A very interesting head with some unusual accessories or additions. Headsets we all have I suppose, but this individual has some special glasses, or a mono lens as well, which can indicate something.

This will be the riddle of the day for you. It's horizontal, but not because the image is in the wrong position. This is how it has been intended. Tell me what you see and then I'll tell you what I see. Or what I think I see. I'm sure it has a deep meaning.

Now I'm in deep trouble here. I think I recognize the face, but can't remember the name. He's been a well known person, have seen him on X all the time. In a wheelchair, paralyzed from the neck down, speaking with the help of the computer. He passed away not long ago. Let's see if you know who it is, or if you see the resemblance.

Another head, with what I would hardly call a happy face. What I see here is a time shaped face with emotions and scars.

Sadness? Disappointment? Both? What do you see here?

Three very different portraits, all a bit abstract or scientific if you like. I see the particularity of each, but if I were to choose, I'd go with the one in the middle. It's less scary in my opinion :)

Now this is an interesting piece with deep meaning in my eyes, at first glance, it looks like a normal human head, but the inside is not, by far. The inside looks like the head of a robot and if you think a bit deeper, we're not robots yet, but we need to think like one and learn quite a lot, to have a competitive advantage, so I see this piece as the future human. Or, the other explanation could be a humanoid robot. Which one it is?

Last, but not least, another head, but not a usual one. Let's see if you see why this is special.

This is it for today. Let me know what you think and if you have a favorite :)

this one feels weird, it's a reversed face but the head is in the right position

down there are some heads, maybe suffering people? no idea why the neck is going behind and looking at it's own butt?🤣

unfortunately i gotta side with your father, i don't like any of these🤣

Here I am! I was reading your post and thinking... I’ve missed a few art exhibitions myself over the last couple of weeks. Between studies and my mum’s operation today, I haven’t had much time. That’s why I love seeing this exhibition.

The famous scientist is Stephen Hawking, it’s him, I’m sure it’s him!! The head you’re talking about, I think it’s a human from the future... will they lose their humanity? I don’t know.

The one I really like is the last piece; it’s all spinning round, just like when we think too much and everything goes round and round in our heads. What an interesting sculpture!

These works of art are all beautiful. I Love the last one more.
