First Cocktail Of The Year

in Photography Lovers5 months ago

It's time to get another art mix post out as one week has passed since the beginning of the year. I'm not going to say time flies as it's a cliché and it's not even true, as we live every single second of it.

Folder cleaning is not finished yes and there are still treasures I'm bumping into, like the few photos I'm going to share today. Going through my folders while cleaning them, it gave me an idea how I can organize them better in the future and not let garbage or digital litter pile up in the future. Better take action in time.

Lajos Czirjék - Homesteads in the Valley

This was an exhibition I visited in April 2024, was hosted by the reformed christian church. It's an amazing initiative to help artists without burdening them with the cost of renting exhibition rooms and I hope this initiative is not an isolated one and other religious venues are adopting it.

This particular painting won me over the second I spotted it, due to the serene landscape it presents, as well as the lovely blue and green shades, colors that are always a winner in my eyes, no matter what we're talking about.

Lajos Czirjék - Street Section With A Church

Another lovely painting from the same artist. Now that I have two paintings posted and the minimum requirement for comparison, I'd definitely go with the second one. That muddy road is definitely not something you wish to walk on, but the visual pleasure these colors give me, totally worth it. It's amazing how well the colors are selected here. Placing the white walled church almost in the middle, draws the eye towards that area. Love it.

Bernadett Szabó - Feast

Painted on canvas, but a very different style. I was a bit surprised when i saw this work as it's a bit strange, you don't see many of this style, but that's exactly the beauty of art.

Crystal

A strange crystal, made of some kind of metal, placed on top of a stone. So we have a nature-made stone and a man-made artwork joined together.

Lili Zsombori - Flanked (Youth 3 - 21 - 28 years old)

This photo won silver medal at an international photography exhibition in 2023 and I can see why. It's the kind of photo composition I'd like to photograph one day. It's perfect in my eyes, everything is aligned perfectly, as it should be.

Life Goes One

This sculpture may look simple, but it says a lot. A tree with deep roots growing out of a grave, breaking the headstone. That is what life is about and as you can see, life is stronger than death. Some go, others come and life goes on. It's not a work that I'd want in my home, but it's a very good one.

Mihai Frunza - The Cherry And The Flowers

It's not the first time I see artworks that are spread outside the canvas, to the frame too, maybe even further, to an extension of the work surface, but it's not very common. This geometric landscape seems rather confusing to me. The white frame on a white wall doesn't help either.

Against Loneliness

A monochrome photo with deep meaning and not only. The title of the photo points out that you can do a lot against loneliness, useful things as this lady is doing something with the yarn (I wish I could understand what she is doing). But what I find interesting here is the angle where the photographer took the photo from, using the wooden wheel. It's a brilliant idea.

I tried to mix the artworks as much as I could, so you have a contrast between them, so let's see which one you like and why. I hope you can find some you like :) Let me know in a comment.

The pleasure is all mine and I'm glad you picked that photo as it's brilliant in every way :)

I like Lajos Czirjék pieces, it's hard to pick the first or the second, the first gives relaxing vibes while the second gives old days country life feeling...

Flanked is also very good, seems like a paint more than a photo!

We have the same taste on this 😆 I think we used to be relatives in a previous life 😉

Haha well we will find each other again on the next life then 😂

I think in the last photo the woman is preparing the wool or yarn by smoothing it to form the skeins, what a great photo!!!

Today my favourite is the sculpture of the tombstone with the tree, its meaning or what I find in it I love it, the life makes its way after death. fascinating!!!!
